How to reset current delta on DOM - Limit chase orders (Sierrachart Tutorial)

In this video I cover a couple of things I've been working on in the Sierra chart platform to improve my discretionary process. In the first part I covered how to use the Volume by Price reset study to reset a volume by price study on a chart or DOM. This helped me so much made a few points in mins in ES. Instead of delta I'm using diagonal bid/ask coloring and plotting the bid x ask GAME CHANGER. Just saw quick flush up, bought 3-4 ticks below got filled and caught the rip.

Wouldn't a market if touched order work similar (better) to the chase order On the fin DOM the bid/ask footprint resets when you reset the Delta. How did you get that to happen ? Thanks I enjoy you videos, they're very helpful.

I think this is a different order type entirely. Regarding the resetting of the volume by price, it is a study in Sierra Chart called Volume By Price Reset Button.

Thanks for the tip about resetting the Delta at Price. I wonder if there is a way to automatically trigger the reset without having to push the button. For example, have the Delta at price reset automatically every "x" minutes/seconds (or whatever the period of the DOM chart) so that one can constantly see the latest imbalances (so you could have one profile with the entire session, but have one or two profiles with the last minute or 30 secs or something like that - same as what you have on the video but just having the smaller time frame profiles resetting automatically). Any ideas?

Yes this is supported and recently I have been using exactly what you described. You use the Volume by price indicator and set it to one period from most recent start to end. You can have as many as you want, example one for 5 minutes only highlighting the POC of the last 5 minutes and another to show traded volume that resets every 45 seconds.

there are a few regression indicator add ins on trading view. if trading crypto where the price axis needs to be in log, use log regression trend line. its simply just a straight line trend line based on a set of points.

I did all the same setting but my volume by price reset button doesnt appear. There is only the classic volume by price normal. Do you know why ?

you need to have both a volume profile and a delta volume profile. Separate them out on the studies. You can adjust the short name in the settings so they are easy to identify. Once you have this set up, you need to attach the volume by price reset button to the specific study and assign your hotkey in the video to the reset

Yes Sierra has simulated trading for any instrument basically.

Have u used the Jigsaw DOM with stock trading? I am being told that the spread is too big on higher priced stocks for this to be accurate.

That’s correct. SC allows u to aggregate the market depth or change the tick size to get around a problem like that.

@@VerrilloTrading thx for reply....been watching since few hundred subs....Jigsaw is who told me about the spread issue and I use Nt8......are u using Jigsaw for futures only and SC for stocks? Also, can you recommend a data vendor for SC? I day trade options and want to try and nail my entries better and hoping an advanced dom can help...thx!

@@robp3741 I used to use jigsaw I switched to SC. They have their own futures data which I believe is superior and they have stock data too. You can connect interactive brokers if you trade options with them I don’t know about other brokers. It is a lot more technical to set up SC for all of this but it will provide good reliability and execution tools u don’t have in other platforms. In the future i’ll do a video showing options trading on SC for example. Hope that helped.

Hello, the data was the Denali feed. You can tell this by seeing the [M] next to the symbol in the data region line at the top of the charts.
