How to reset PCM on 2010 Ford F150 FX4

If the Transmission in your Ford F150 is acting wonky, try this before replacing it..
Step 1. Disconnect negative terminal. 8mm socket.
Step 2. Turn on headlight switch.
Step 3. Set timer for 30 minutes.
Step 4. reconnect negative terminal.
Step 5. turn off headlight switch, A/C, radio etc. everything.
Step 6. Turn key to ACC position for 10 seconds then start engine.
Step 6. Take a test drive. Drive normal and allow the PCM to relearn how to operate.

Please tell me, after unplugging the batteries negative and running headlights for 30 minutes, did you just rehook up the battery and start it up? Or is there another step to it?

My ac is not turning on. Had a mechanic go thru it and he replaced the relay, drained and refilled the refrigerant and checked the wiring. Everything passed. Can't get power to the compressor. He thinks it is in the pcm

Would this reset the battery charging management system? I have been told by the mechanic I have to replace the pcm. I have already replaced the battery, alternator, terminals are corrosion free and the ohm test of all wires were normal.

I have the same problem! Just replaced alternator and battery on 2011 f150 platinum, bt battery keeps dying

Did you leave the lights on when you connected the battery or turn them back off first?

Would this also reset the radio? I connected my battery backwards and now my radio doesn’t work. I’ve tried fuses, touching the terminals, etc.

Smell it thru the air vents. 99.99% of the time when you hook the wrong wires up, you've burned up the radio. It will smell like burned electronics.

My 2014 raptor is doing the same thing it’s shift crazy and the wrench light is on and also the engine light on

A good driver never turns the steering when the vehicle is stationary, this puts a lot of strain on the rack, the pump, the seals, etc.
