How to reset Ram Perform Service See Dealer Mile Countdown Speed limiter

If you’re having emissions problems and a message pops up on your dash saying Perform Service/see dealer amd that you only have 150 miles until the truck will only go 5 mph you can reset that in an emergency by just disconnecting both negative battery cables for 30 seconds then putting them back on. You’ll need an 8 mm and a 10mm wrench. My truck is a 2014 ram 2500

Didn’t work on mine. 2015 longhorn 3500. I removed both batteries overnight. Message came back on imediately. Even remembered the countdown mile

You made sure you disconnected both battery cables and each battery and touched them together?

Guys just drain the old def put some expensive $20def jug reset check engine drive out... The message will come back countdown but once it feels that new def everything disappears after few miles driving..

There's a sensor on top of the engine right beside the turbo hose. The black square sensor on the engine pulls it off clean it put it back in, and your problem is solved. Read this message around because this fix my truck it was a totally free Fix, everyone telling me that I needed to replace the engine or I needed a new Turbo😂

Yes it will eventually come back, but it will give you some extra driving distance in a pinch.

​@@TheATVboy17 I got that message a little over or close to 400k miles... Replaced the DEF injector and the message was gone at start up. Drove for nearly a week then the message came back. I then replaced the DEF pump(should've replaced them at the same time), the message left and never came back.

Did you disconnect both batteries and touch the neg and positive cables together?

My 2016 MC gave me the same message last year. It wouldn't reset and I ended going into limp mode in Georgia on I-95 in Savannah. I couldn't go above 15mph with a damn load that had to be delivered the port. ended up having to trade for a new truck. Don't make my mistake if you get this message take it to the darn dealer or someone you trust. YOUR truck will F you when you least expect it so by wise.

@@TheATVboy17 I'm confused you didn't say to touch the cables together in the video. So, you unhook both battery cables on each battery and touch the cables together?

@@5starlawncare yes remove both positive and negative cables off both batteries. And touch one pair of + and negative cables together. This removes all power from the truck and control modules, touching the cables together discharges and capacitors or any residual voltage. This is also a way to reset a check engine light without a scan tool if needed.

@@qalv97 mechanic ripped it apart and my whole def system was backed up from the start of it to the end of the def system so he had to straight pipe my truck basically so i didn’t have to spend 1500 on parts alone and he had a guy tune it over a computer from a different state
