I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

Thanks Tim, an F3 error relates to a potentially high discharge pipe temp, refrigerant shortage, circuit blockage/restriction or metering device issue. Often the resetting will clear the error and sometimes allow you to get the unit going again. It might pay in this instance though to have it checked over by a qualified service agent just to ensure all is ok. Cheers.

Good to hear Siv that you're back online, however given its a F3, this relates to "a potentially high discharge pipe temperature - refrigerant charge shortage" and others. While this may have cleared the fault, it would be advisable to possibly speak with a local service agent who is familiar with working on this equipment.

Great to hear Mark! Sometimes the compressor will also go out on an overload during the more extreme weather conditions. Good to know it got you out of trouble. Also good make sure you clean your filter regularly and consider a local agent to inspect from time to time for a general service.

Does anyone know what to do if the flap that opens on the head unit and allows the air to flow and swing, does not close completely when you switch it off leaving a one inch gap. I opened it while the unit was switched off which it obviously didn't like and now it won't close completely when I switch it off

Hi Mike sometimes doing a hard reset (ie turn off at isolator outside as demonstrated in this video) will rectify this issue. Unit will turn on and open flap and close again. Failing that could be an issue with the stepping motor which opens and shuts the louvre.

UPDATE: This worked and resulted in a delayed spend for a new unit plus installation. I suggest calling the manufacturer to tell you what the problem is (Electrolux were great) and a bit of research helped validate what the tradies are saying. This is a good example of building social licence to operate credits. Thanks for the tip.

If you've done this and its not working, head inside and see if there is a green light flashing on the unit. This will indicate there is an error. To find out what the error is (assuming it's a Daikin unit), you can follow the steps in the following video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSmlXaoZbZ3Z9k Once you know what the error is, you may need to contact a service agent to have them formally diagnose further. What if the unit's circuit box is outside and the only way to get to it is on the roof? We are stationed in Naples, Italy and one of the AC units in our rental had the EC message. But the circuit box is outside the window and the only way to get to it is by getting on a roof!! I am not risking my life because my landlord does not want to be disturbed with "yet another problem". I hate living in Naples, italy and before y'all come for me. Live here amongst the locals and deal with their horrible attitude towards everything. I dare you. Visiting Naples, italy is entirely a different beast. CHANGE MY MIND.
