You were just giving your plant the attention it deserves 😌

You are so very much harder on yourself that your audience would ever be. I have watched and enjoyed videos with far worse errors (including my own videos!) Also, I love that it came back right as you started talking about what NOT to do! Like "hey! listen up! We're getting serious now." 🤣. Also, the content is extremley helpful because literally just yesterday my therapist missed the mark and I got triggered and we did some of these things but it's provided good insight on how to bring it up again next time because I'm still hurting a bit from it all. The timing of this video is so uncanny. ❤

Great content, as always! I want to applaud you for being kind to yourself by not redoing the whole video, your time is better spent with your kids or doing self-care! :) The blurriness wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after your intro haha. You are a great model of how to release perfection for the sake of being kind to yourself.

Linking to any parallel situations was a helpful suggestion

I had a good experience with giving feedback with my therapist. We were working through the enneagram personality testing abd how to get to the "healthier" paths and I was getting super frustrated with that process due to not liking personality tests or the insight it was giving instead of actionable steps to help me. I communicated that need for actionable steps and then we went straight into EMDR and it's woo woo as hell but it's a modality that works really well for me and I'm feeling blessed everyday I was able to find something that helped. Love your content!

I hear this complaint from many people who went to therapy saying therapy did not give them any actionable steps. I did not receive this complaint from my clients as tended to be more results oriented and always included actionable steps. A lot of my clients have expressed to me that they liked my approach over their previous therapists who would have them just retell their trauma over and over again. But most therapists are not results oriented and they like to process. It sounds like that is what your therapist was doing they were processing with you to help you understand your personality on a deeper level. This approach of just processing information is seen as a more favorable approach than giving actionable steps. Most therapists believe that if you just keep processing you will eventually come up with your own solution, and there is no need to provide practical steps. It is a good idea for people to keep this in mind when going to therapy to not expect to be given actionable steps or advice.

Im glad you are results oriented! It took quite a few therapists before i had the courage to ask though.@molly2frodo222

I just listened to it like a podcast (actually how I always listen to these, oops) and then switched to the tab and laughed out loud, the plant is your guest I guess?

😂 I hadn’t realized that when I set up my camera, I accidentally clicked on the plant which switched the focus on it. So yes, thank you to my dear plant Nancy the fiddle for an amazing guest feature 😅

The link to the free check list isn't working. I would certainly appreciate having access to that as I am starting my program in August. I have 6 kids at home and will need TIME to get my ducks in a row.

I'm going to talk to a doctor about seeing a therapist, because my OCD has gotten too much control over me, and I think I need help. But first, can I ask a therapeutic question here as a brief start toward this new journey about me? Just to tie me over while I'm waiting for whoever becomes my therapist in the hopefully near future.
