@@yuhsiuyoung1 I didn't fix the problem on my own since the problem is hardware, a technician did and he verified that the motherboard was at fault because an update interruption led to the Sony system crashing. All is now functioning properly after the motherboard was replaced by him. If it is covered by a warranty, it is free I just gave him a tip

Hi there I have a KD-55X8509C. It needs a firmware update but I can't turn it on. When plugged in the SONY icon is in the middle of the screen (so the power works) but it's unresponsive. Instead of restart, sometimes I'd like to turn the TV OFF. Not just simply pushing the off button, but complete shutdown, the same as I can do with android phones, tablets, etc... Long pressing the power button of the TV only gives me the option to restart or cancel, but cannot power off.

@@SonyEuro Very kind of you to reply. The model is KDL-65W855C. I was listening to music via USB drive plugged directly into the TV and then selected 'picture off' to save power. Then I turned the TV off. Later, I came to turn on the TV and I got no picture, just flashing red light 6 times. I have tried hard factory reset many times. (hold power and volume down, plug in, wait for green light - release. All external devices and cables are disconnected of course.) Sometimes after powering on, after the hard reset, the pictures briefly flashes on for a SPLIT second, then straight off and the flashing red lights start. 6 times. At this moment in time, I simply do not have the money to get a TV repair service so I am devastated, I have ASD and rely on being able to turn on my TV in the night so I can get back to sleep so this is hitting hard. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Well unfortunately all these steps did not help at all in resetting and restarting my Bravia Sony television, This TV is only 5 years old and all the steps in trying to restart it failed. All I kept seeing is a black screen after the restart screen of Android showed up. So to say, I will never purchase a Sony product again.

As per Sony, the long boring unnecessary video doesn’t help! What u need to do is press the power button and the remote button until it resets? Why would u give wrong information? Worst tv Ive ever had that I paid $225 more to make sure I get quality. The stupid thing doesnt even have a sleep timer. Not one button. Slow and glitchy chipset. Slow and glitchy android OS. Never again. Im done with sony. Its on marketplace selling for less than half the price 2 months later. Im getting a JVC. At least thats cheap.
