Well I just did mine. used the 2k clear. waited a day, then I sanded wet sanded at 2000. I had some meguiars ultimate compound and polish. It still very orange peely though. I've already waxed it and all. Not sure if I should just start again and re wet sand it maybe at 1500 instead, then compound polish it again. Its shiny and all, just orange peely. I might just live with it. It was dull and matted before, now its shiny and ... kind of blurry. I wasn't trying to see my reflection in it and all, I just didn't want it dull and oxidized anymore.

No, I didn't stand down to the carbon. Maybe if the carbon was exposed, a layer of resin could make sense, but the clear coat does the same thing at this point.

Did this process except used 2x clear coat and the results were the same, however after going through a touch less car wash i see that there is clouding spots appearing outwards of where the hood vent is (08 wrx). Why is this? Do i need to sand these areas and polish again? Clear coat again? I waited a few days before I even washed the hood by hand, and a few more passed until I went through the touch less car wash. It only started clouding after the latter

@350zleep2 жыл бұрын
@@dwad9162 over-spray aka orange peel is normal. Thats removed by polishing. Some polishing compound have three stages basically heavy, medium, fine. If you want to buy an actual polisher just to do a hood i recommend to ask someone to lend you one, if they have one or buy a polishing pad that can be attached to a drill. If you plan on polishing your whole car then buy an actual polisher. Your choice but worth considering.
