I like the knife. I'm actually working on my 2nd knife and it somewhat resembles yours in profile. Of course your knife making has been very inspiring to me. Thanks.

This is a seriously great video! Odd question how do you restore chipped blade edges? I do not forge blades and I have extremely little knowledge on grinding. Any help would be appreciated.

OMG!! I feel so triggered you only went to 400 grit on that knife. How dare you!! LMAO! Had to be sarcastic and poke some fun. Absolutely beautiful work and I am always blow away by how beautiful your knives are. Thank you for helping push the maker movement with your videos. In the process of making a forge for myself to mess around some. Not sure if I will start doing knives or blacksmithing other items instead. I am mostly looking forward to making myself tools for use in my future projects.

It is so nice to see your videos! This was very cathartic to watch and inspires me to make time to get back into the forge. Also there's some cool stuff in that trailer of doom! Great work as always, thanks for being unapologetically you.

Jason, you’re probably gonna cuss me like a dog, but I was wondering if you could teach us how to make an integral knife such as that just using hammer and anvil I know that would be a lot of work, but it sure would be interesting and by the way, I normally don’t comment a lot Because I’m scared I will say something stupid but I promise you everyone of your instructional videos. I guarantee you I’ve watched them 25 or 30 times each and still go back and watch him. It’s not gonna be long and I’m gonna start being a maker and I’m really excited and I owe you a lot, just buy your instructional videos

You have lost your mind, brother... an elk is WAY bigger than that... they're like a thousand pounds and covered in hair. Also, *unhinged screeching about how you MUST do 72 hours of hand sanding up to 0.25 micron*

after all the grinding - is the heat treat still good ? did the heat generated by the grinding do anything negative to the blade? i have many i need to do this to. but as they are handled already, i didnt think i could do this without re heat treating them.
@esnyd
@esnyd Жыл бұрын
I grind almost all of my knives after they are heat treated. You have to pay attention not to over heat the steel during the process, but as a general rule, if you can hold it, it's not too hot. The glue on the handle would let go before he ruined the temper.

@@johnmeans7077have a bucket of water nearby and dunk it after each pass on the grinder to be safe. The edge can easily get ruined if you get carried away with grinding.
