Trying to reset Nano X and trying to restore a MM 12 phrase recovery phrase however word #3 for MM is VIdeo and this does not exist as a word in Nano X. What do i do? I mean i see a ton of video where people are restoring MM phrases into Nano X recovery so all their asses are protected via Ledger. How are they doing this?

One question. I had my ledger stolen, with my seed phrase. I do have a copy of the seed phrase, and I also checked Ledger live to confirm the money/crypto is still on ledger live. It is. I went to purchase a new ledger nano x (1) to follow all your instructions, and I wanted to know if I add a pass phrase if I will be safe at least for the time being if the person who stole it tried to get in to retrieve my crypto? In the meantime, I also purchased another new ledger nano (2) to set up as new, to generate all new seed phrases and then transfer/send all my crypto to the 2nd new devise. In your opinion will this work? I watched so many videos trying to figure how how to restore and then generate new seeds with one device and I thought my head would explode. Great video! Thanks for sharing! The only thing that makes my brain explode is why Ledger Live performs the "Genuine Device" check AFTER THE SEED PHRASE was inputted into the device. This makes no sense to me. You'd think Ledger Live would want to ensure the device is genuine BEFORE anyone inputs their seed phrase into the device. Please, am I missing something here? I thought i lost all of it and it was one of the scenario you described in the end :) i restored it successfully now. What do you do if after entering your 24 words and the screen shows "Nano is ready", you run it through the test and it fails? I set up my original 24 words using a phone and computer that belonged to my company, who has since laid off a bunch of us and they took back their phones and computers. It was one big PITA trying to get Uphold to stop sending 6-digit verification codes to the phone I no longer have. Finally they updated to my new phone number, but my crypto is somehow floating in the abyss and I need to wrangle it all back to where it was.

Ledger live manager sees the Nano X however, when I go to receive to verify the receive address I get a Sorry, it looks like your "device is disconnected" message. Hey Crypto dad. I have a NanoS and I set it up four months back on my android phone and it worked lovely. Got it out today.. No light at all when I plug it into the phone. It doesn't even register with the ledger live app. Works perfect on my wife's phone. Same phone. Only difference is she never does android update. The firmware seems to be 2.0 on the ledger. You can do a reset by entering your pin incorrectly three times. Upon reset all of the apps will be deleted. You will need to reinstall them once you have created the new configuration and written down your new 24 word recovery phrase.

If you feel your 24-word seed phrase is compromised, then you should transfer everything to a new configuration. Restoring your new device with the old seed simply restores the old configuration. You need to set up a new device with a new seed phrase and transfer everything to that.

Thinking of buying a NANO, cautionary tale; Don’t be fooled into thinking your crypto is stored on your NANO device it isn’t. Which was recently confirmed by Ledger support “Please note that your crypto assets are not stored inside the Ledger device nor the Ledger Live application”. I, recently lost access to thousands of Crypto I thought was stored on my NANO device because this was how it was advertised, but, it is NOT true. A recent failed upgrade of Ledger Live exposed the truth. Ledger support solution was to delete the Ledger Live app and reinstall it, I did this, but, it destroyed ALL the crypto accounts on Ledger Live and NANO. So, I have lost thousands of crypto, I would have been better off leaving them on the Crypto exchange. So, if you are considering buying a NANO, read my cautionary tale, “Caveat Emptor” “Buyer Beware”.

I had a problem today and so I tried to use the Ledger Facebook help today and suddenly I had so many new friend requests! It strikes me as a stupid idea to use social media for such things. I have a strange situation I would like your opinion about please. My Nano X did a successful transfer of $10 to Coinbase then when I went to do the main amount, my BTC had somehow become exactly doubled and any attempt to transfer any BTC from my Nano X resulted in failure. I have 4 ledgers, two I have crypto on and two are fresh unopened in their box as backups. One of the screens on my two used devices failed, also opened the two new ones to restore and they were both unreadable. missing pixels and dim etc. These are shockingly crap. The devices I had crypto on have been used 5 times each. I have given up and moved out of ledger as they appear to be very unreliable.

Hmm... Interesting take. You seem to be an extremely unlucky person. Sorry to hear that you have had problems with your screens. I've had 10 to 15 ledgers over the years (Obviously, some of these were demos that I only used a few times). And I only had one that started to fade after 3 or 4 years of use that I replaced. I've been using the same Ledger Nano X for the last four years, and I have never had any issues with it. Screen or otherwise. But to be fair, we're not talking about a $1200 iPhone here. We're talking about an $80 to $150 device whose main function is generating and managing private keys.

Once you have the account restored, you can access the passphrase accounts, the same as before. Just enter the pass phrase or set up the alternate pin, using the same passphrase you used the last time.
