Will this process still work if you can't access your old laptop? You mentioned that you need to delete the Ledger app from the old device. But, I can't do that, because I can't get into the old laptop.

I have a nano x. I did not realise that blue tooth was turned on by default. I left a long time and when I tried it it came up with a battery low error message. I was told by ledger I need to replace it. But I managed to squeeze enough life out of the battery by carefully heating it with a hair dryer. I could then unlock it, charge it and then go into settings and turn off blue tooth to preserve battery when it was not in use. The problem I have now is that I keep getting error messages when I try and transfer crypto etc. Do you think it is possible to have lost so much battery that it has forgotten the master private keys? Have you experienced this or know of anyone who may have? It would make a good video for all to see.

First of all, if you have to use a hairdryer on your crypto hardware wallet, then that should be throwing some serious red flags in your head. I’m sorry to hear that your device has battery issues, but as Ledger mentioned, you should get this device replaced. The reason that Bluetooth is enabled by default is because, the device is designed to use the Bluetooth by default in mobile mode. Also, you really don’t need to have the device on at all times. You can only turn it on when you need it and turn it off when you don’t need it. In fact, the device will automatically power down if you haven’t used it for a little while. I don’t know what the exact timeframe is, but it’s, not that long. I’ve had many Ledger devices over the years and I’ve never had any battery issues. I’ve carried around my Ledger nano X in my pocket and pulled it out and used it whenever I needed it. You should be doing the same. It sounds like you simply need a replacement. all this jerry-rigging you’re doing is completely unnecessary. Just get a new device and use it as designed. And no the device will not “forget” your master private keys. It can be powered down without losing the private key functionality. It just sounds like your device is defective and you need a new one.

@ this video is about installing a second copy of Ledger Live on a brand new computer. If that’s the case and your device is intact there is no need to reset or recover the device.

Hi CryptoDad, Thanks for the great video. I have an issue where I stored a few different coins on my Ledger Nano S back in 2018 and then put it in my drawer and forgot about it. Roll on 6 years, I can still see the coins and their current values on the Ledger Live App on my iphone. However I cannot get the Nano itself to unlock. After 3 failed attempts I was prompted to recover the device with my 24 word passphrase which I have done, however the coins are not showing up. I have had a new PC since and the ledger live on that shows the same as the device (nothing). I can see my crypto on my Ledger live app on my iPhone but nowhere else. Any tips please?

Thanks for the videos. I was hoping you might have an answer or video for me. I have a pending eth transaction on tangem wallet. Didn't notice it went out with 4.1 wei gas fee. I dont know how to increase the gas fee on tangem. Was wondering if you had an idea or video.

It is not strictly necessary as long as you confirm you are on the official site (ledger.com or ledger.com/ledger-live) However, they do have the tools available if you would like to verify your download. www.ledger.com/ledger-live/lld-signatures

Hi, Just 2 days ago I tried to download the latest firmware for the ledger nano x. For some reason my nano X is not accepting my PIN number. It stays frozen on the pin screen. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would never buy another Ledger device. This crappy program locked me out, as I did not use it for a short while. Have a tiny bag locked up now. Will try to follow your instructions. Hoping it will work. Nothing but problems with these devices.

Question: My Ledger Nano S I bought it in feb 2022, I barely used it, today wanted to use it and It didn't turn on, the screen was off. I only used it like almost 10 or 15 times this 2 years and now is not working, should I used the ledger device more often to prevent this to happened ? The same thing happened to me with another ledger nano S that I bought in 2019, that's why I bought the new one in 2022. I just ordered a new nano S plus, I would like to know if I have to uninstalled the current Ledger Live app from my computer when I received the new device. Also, do I need to have the ledger live open when I enter the recovery words to the new device ? Thank you. Please if somebody can give me a recommendation on this doubt.

You don’t need an email to set up a ledger device. The only thing you need is your back up phrase. That 12 or 24 word series that you wrote down on your backup card when you first set up the device. The email might be associated with the actual ordering of the device, but it has nothing to do with the set up of the device

Thank you for all your fantastic videos, you’re really a pro and helping so many people. When I was charging my ledger nano X it lost all of its data and now wants me to restore. Just a few days earlier my laptop died so I cannot Connect my nano to my laptop Using Ledger Live. Is it OK to just restore my nano X with my 24 seed phrases and then when I get a new laptop then connect the nano and re-install all the apps? What would be your best recommendation to move forward? I really appreciate your help

I bought my Ledger Nano S Plus from Best Buy. There was no plastic wrapping around it. It was in a sleeve. I cannot get it to move past the Genuine Check on ledger live. However it does not have any message that it is not genuine. It does not move past "Connect and Unlock"..... The chat is not answering my issue!

I got a new computer and set everything up and it worked perfectly but then randomly my physical nano x just went black and when I reconnected it, it wanted me to completely set it up as a new device or restore. Any idea why this would happen or how to fix this? Is it trying to make me use my recovery phrases?

You can install Ledger Live on as many computers as you want to. To manage a device all you have to do is connect it and hit “add account”
