Thank you for this video! It restored my HP PC. I followed your steps exactly as you described. This was much easier for me to follow than the written instructions. However, after coming up with the screen I couldn’t get to the Exit tab because I had no cursor nor touchscreen capabilities, but the arrow keys on the keyboard got me there. After my computer reset, I automatically got a notification to update my PC with HPDC-Service-4.9.25.0, and everything works perfectly again.

Hi. I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to tech and thus I have no idea what this actually does--all I know is that I need to stop my laptop restarting randomly without warning and deleting all my things. Does doing this delete the data/files stored on your laptop? Thanks

I paid for SmartFriend support for "information missing..." BIOS problem. I went through five different techs that kept trying to fix OS problems (they were working through a script). I was never elevated to a higher tech, even though I asked to be. I demanded my money back. Don't waste your money on HP SmartFriend. The average teenager is smarter than these techs.

In the BIOS Setup utility, select the Exit tab. Select Load Setup Defaults. Select Save Changes and Exit (pressing f9 and the enter key also loads Setup Defaults). Press esc and enter to exit Setup. I pressed saved and exit but then it just crashes and then i have to hold the power down to shut it off completely which ends up not saving the default settings....PLEASE HELP

A system recovery completely erases all files, programs, and saved work on the hard drive. Always back up important information before attempting a recovery. If additional hard drives are connected to the computer, for example an HP Media Drive, disconnect the data and power cables from the back of the extra drive before performing a system recovery. Worst all products of HP got contract with antivirus company so have to buy licence forcefully for higher rate and if we Dilly or can't buy harddrive disappear and can't find I work in IT and hardware software sales company sector and my suggestion is don't buy any of HP products

My pc does not allow me to go the factory reset, restoring the BIOS did not work and updating also did not work. I tested my hard drive and it passed. And I can't install new windows on the pc. HP 255 G8

This is happening to my brand new laptop, which I paid £900 for. First boot up, it happened. This method lets me into Windows, but this keeps happening most times on start up Ive run all diagnostic checks (whick say my hard drive is fine) and done all system/bios/windows updates and it keeps happening. For paying a large amount of money, I dont expect problems like this out of the box.

@HPSupport 3F0 error keeps occurring. Model is HP ENVY CW0500SA. I've updated BIOS, Run all diagnostic checks, updated Windows, done everything HP Support Assistant asks and 3F0 keeps happening.

Try this : Go to BIOS Setup F10, select System Configuration, deactivate "Secure Boot", then select "Legacy" as "Boot option". Save and exit check if this works. Let us know how it goes! My HP laptop, which was newly bought; whenever plugged in constantly drops to 0.25GHz and it stays like that until its either at 100% or under 8% when charging, I've tried basically everything to fix this yet nothing has worked. Do you have a solution for this or do I just give up with this laptop?

Wow, so basic! My kid could do this without this video. Now how would you recommend resetting bios to default (or re enabling legacy) after enabling boot mode without csm which causes a blank screen on both main and VGA!?! Cannot access the bios screen at all so how am I supposed to see what I'm clicking on! Doesn't help that my ssd appears to have been corrupted by something as trivial as a CMOS battery expiring!! Not cool hp! Yeah, "Pro"book... Riight!

@@HPSupport again, this is an issue caused by setting the boot mode in bios to 'without CSM'* that has caused Both screens to be blank. VGA was working fine before I changed only this bios setting. I need to somehow change this back to legacy or "with CSM" to get VGA working again on boot, but without needing to view the bios screen! Even just reset bios to default should do the trick but nothing will reset the boot setting without visuals. The URL provided has already been perused and suitable options tested previously. I have tried to reflash a bios blind, using the usb bios flash method but presume because I am on the latest version (L77-0150) it won't update anymore. I also tried to flash and rollback to a lower version (0133), placing the bin file into new and also previous folders on usb but still no screen. Is there a reset pin on the bios chip I can short to ground to reset the bios to default config? Or another method to reset that doesn't need visual interaction? * The last selection of the three in boot mode options. (legacy was top).
