While still pressing the Windows and B keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for one to three seconds, then release the Power button. Continue holding the Windows and B keys until you hear beeping sounds or the HP BIOS update screen opens. The BIOS update begins automatically. It will write and then verify the updated BIOS. Click Continue Startup to restart your computer or wait until it restarts automatically. At the BIOS recovery prompt, press Enter on your keyboard to continue loading Windows. If prompted, read and respond to the screens to complete the recovery process.

I didn't need this info now, BUT I really like how this video was done. Usually videos have some long annoying intro, distracting music, or some guy trying to be funny. You need to diagnos your hard drive. Try removing it before following the steps. If you are able to recover your BIOS then is most likely that the BIOS update corrupted your hard drive

Please follow these steps to do a system recovery: 1) Turn off the computer. 2) Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. 3) Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Startup Menu. 4) Now press the F11 key to access Recovery manager. 5) On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot. 6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager. 7) Under Help, click System Recovery. 8) Follow the on screen instructions to complete the recovery process. Let us know how it goes.

Whew. Glad I found this when I did. Literally just let my laptop rest after an hour of writing, opened it up just to watch KZbin and it was flashing. Here's a tip; If Windows +B doesn’t work when it's off, try it while its on.

Please follow these steps to do a system recovery: 1) Turn off the computer. 2) Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. 3) Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Startup Menu. 4) Now press the F11 key to access Recovery manager. 5) On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot. 6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager. 7) Under Help, click System Recovery. 8) Follow the on screen instructions to complete the recovery process. Let us know how it goes.

Hello. I hope I can still get an answer from this. I changed bios setting and enabled Legacy and disabled secure boot. When i save and exit the laptop beeps loudly, for a while there I thought it was gonna blow up. Could doing the step in the video fix the problem? Ive watched lots and searched already but it involved opening and removing parts, which I'm afraid to do because the laptop is not mine. Please help. 😢😢😢

Hey you guys... I tried the windows+b keys several times and got the "BIOS UPDATE FAILED PAGE". After watching another KZbinr I tried these same steps but using the 'windows+V" key. My computer is now functioning!

A recovery drive also contains Windows system recovery tools that can help you recover Windows from a serious error or restore your computer from a system image. Thank you, it went straight to "The System BIOS is being recovered" - HP OMEN 17 (2019 Edition). Disclaimer: When the BIOS finished recovering and everything completed, my laptop went into an endless black screen. I had to press down the power button and then waited 60secs, turned on the laptop and I am now back to desktop, perfect, thanks!
