I’m a 71 year old female. I’m the original owner of a 2004 Honda Accord with only 61K miles. Last evening I was positive my headlights weren’t working. There were areas of my route I had to use high beams. When I got home, I discovered they were working but the lens were so cloudy very little light was getting through. I texted some male friends and said they can be cleaned for $100-300. I discovered your video! I have the Mr Clean magic erasers. I just used a couple days ago to clean the white edge of my tennis shoes. I will buy the spray protectant and clean ASAP. Thank you for your excellent tutorial. I have been able to diagnose and fix several problems myself by watching Utube videos. I will let you know how my application goes. Thank you from Dallas

I wish SOOOO MUCH whoever got the idea for these PLASTIC HEADLAMPS had them stuck where the sun don't shine. The GLASS Seal Beams were superior and CHEAP to replace. This is just another gimmick the CONSUMER ECONOMY has to keep people BROKE. But having said that, you did a GREAT JOB!!! I have ONE question though, after applying the clear coat, when it goes BAD, it will one of these days, how do you clean it THEN??? Great Video!!! BB
@thestranger1164

Just get a turtle wax restoration kit and put a lot of clear coating on after your done. The grit paper sands off all of the oxidation and the clear coat protects it from the sun for atleast a year. After any of these in this video you can expect oxidation after 3-6 months. That's why the kit is worth 20$.

Use a small foam pad on a drill instead of a toothbrush, and you will get much better results. Then put a coat of wax on it and buff it out. When you've done that, use a nano wax product of your choice on the headlights, and follow up with a clean foam pad and you will have the best looking headlights around. Good luck with your restoration project, take care, and stay safe.

Only if you have a drill. As a woman I never had a need for a drill. I'm beginning to see a drill is actually a very helpful item for more than one type of use. I wouldn't know what kind to get though. Are they all the same? I miss my late husband 😒 he took care of all these kinds of things. @paulflack5033

Wrong, lol. You realize our stomachs are full of acid, right? And even in your mouth and throat, you have a constant supply of saliva and mucus that minimize any damage, much less the effects you see on plastic. And If you never brush your teeth with fluoride the sugar from the soda will lead to much more damage than any acid.

Find out where moisture is entering, repair it. drill a small hole in an inconspicuous spot and use a hand held vacuum pump to pull a vacuum and hold it for awhile, this will do two things. It will evacuate moisture (same as pulling a vacuum on an a/c system) and it will confirm you have fixed your moisture entry leak. Remove pump, seal hole immediately with your choice of quick setting sealant.

I had heard that you could pay to have someone else clean the headlights. I am 65 and on a fixed income. Your video helped me with my headlights. I favor the toothpaste and soft cloth method. I have assigned parking and drive less than 3,000 miles per year. So, I like the toothpaste result as it last longer for me due to my reduced driving. In a small town you only add up so much mileage. Thanks for your helpful tutorial.😊

You did some masking to protect the paintwork but removed it before the end and also some masks no was partial cover. In particular it took an hour with the white vinegar option. Might the paintwork be affected ?
