irs reccomended to resurface any bowling ball with these pads, only if you plan to better or change the reaction

Yes my answer seems a bit cryptic. A low rev rate needs lower grit to be able to grip the lane. What i meant was that someone with a high rev rate would probaly never use less than 1000 grit. They use polished, 4000 , 2000 and in real heavy oil 1000. With a low rev rate 500 would be better in the heavy oil. You could go as low as 360 but the there is the possibility of the ball gripping too early and you would loose action in the pins.

So do you always start with the 180, steeping through the different grits until you hit the desired surface?

no. the pads arent simply strong enough to take circumfrance off the bowling ball. its only the surface or it, it doesnt cut ball out.

I have a low rev rate I use 800 and 500 its great!!! Oil is like snow. More snow/oil more tread

listen, i would take it down from its original grit, down to 500, then bring it back up to its original grip, and then add polish if necessary. if its like 1000 grit oiriginal, take it down to 500, then back up to 1000, to remove your track marks

Where can you buy the blue paper towels you use to polish the ball. Are they tougher than a regular paper towel?

My bowling ball as a thick clear layer on top. What I mean is there is a core and the rest of the ball is transparent. Does this technic will work for it?

Can you stop at any grit and still get a shine on the bowling ball?

thanks for the info here, this gave me the idea to have my pro shop sand my ball to 1000. I throw quick but revs aren't high. Ball behaves exactly like I want it to again.

Wow 5 years without an answer, I'm sure you have one now, but what I do is I use my ball spinner and clean them about every 30 games, soak them in warm water every 60 games, and resurface every 80 to 90 games.

you dont have to use a spinner that just makes it so it is a more even finish but you can just wipe the pads on your ball and try and use the same pressure while spinning it in your palm

The spec for the Physix out of box is 3000 grit finish and the Sure Lock is 1000 out of the box. Specs were taken from Storms website.

@TheRosalietje You can bowl with 1000 grit. 1000 grit is for heavy oil unless your rev rate is low.
