I love using the torx construction screws. They don't slip, they are strong with a good sheer and tensile strength (not as good as nail, but for a lot of odds and ends, perfect. And the torx prevents stripping like a Phillips would after a few uses, so great to reuse over and over.

It's really funny cos I know crap about manual labour or concrete, I work on IT, yet somehow I still love this videos. I wonder if it is possible to lay a new slab over an old slab using similar framing, gluing, and reinforcement techniques as seen in this video. My old slab has some vegetation overtaking the center where the relief cuts exist. Old slab is 4 inches thick and in pretty good shape. Just need to add another 2-3 inches to prepare it for a workshop building.

14:14 I appreciate the detail in the clean up, I expected you to just sweep the chips into the gravel right next to the shed but you collected them and threw them out. I'm curious why the shed wasn't backed closer to the property edge though? Seems like a bit of wasted space behind the shed, maybe he'll build a lean-to roof to make a covered area though.

Thanks for making this video. This is exactly what I was looking for to add a stem all inside of a garage for a laundry room. Question, do you ever use Dobie blocks or rebar chairs? Also, if the existing concrete is sloped, would you just rip a board so the stem wall is level? Just curious. Thanks!

Thats perfection right there! Love the channel been watching it for years! I've always been kind of stumped on the amount of water to use in a mixer like this. Seems that even when I use the "max" allowed water as stated on the bag, its too dry. Maybe I'm not letting it mix long enough? Also was that "T" bar a custom made tool? I was jabbing a piece of metal angle to break up the clumps. Thanks for all the tips and tricks.

Garage door installed was an Amarr 7/1/2'. the bottom seal is adequate and the concrete driveway sloped away from the opening. Water intrusion has not occurred in since the shed was completed. Where the door seals to the curb ends at the bottom aluminum was used to be flush with the the wood furring strips on the door opening to engage the side seals and eliminate any wood contact with the ground.
