technically, but sounds like that's very unlikely... especially at first.

How do I tell the FAA about my new remote ID module? Do I just log on, and edit the info for my currently registered, ancient, non-compliant Mavic Pro?

I have a DJI Mini 2 which is 249 grams. Wouldn't an additional drone beacon cause it to weigh too much? I just got mine too and this is all new to me as I got this in trade for something on FB marketplace..😢

Technically that would put it over the registration weight limit. Registration with the FAA costs five bucks.

You suggested that the more expensive, self-contained (currently backordered) remote ID modules need to be plugged in to the drone's USB port. Are you sure that's correct? I have just bought a Db120 for my Mavic Pro, and don't think that it needs to be plugged in.

that's possible I suppose? if there is some way of wirelessly connecting to the drone? It's just going to need a way to get the drone telemetry data, take off location, and pilot location.

I think the Db120 has GNSS built in. At least that would give it the takeoff location. I haven't read the remote ID spec. Is the pilot location one of the requirements, or will the takeoff location be enough?
