Even though they are basically the same car, the FR-S (GT86) is lacking some equipment compared to it's Subaru twin, most notably in the headlights. In this video, I show you how to replace the basic FR-S headlights with the fancy BRZ lights.

What do you like driving more, the E90 or the FRS?

They are very different cars. The FR-S is HANDS DOWN the better "driver's car." But the E90 is way more comfortable. For road trips or any drive more than an hour, I'd take the E90. For backroads or short trips around town I'd take the FR-S!

Jonny Salamander honestly they are about the same. The FR-S might be a little quicker now with the exhaust and headers. Neither of them are really that fast though. The 330xi has like 60 more hp compared to the FR-S but it’s 800 lbs heavier and I think the AWD system soaks up some of that power too.

Great video! Them headlights are such an upgrade, reminds me of when I upgraded my E82s halogens for Xenons. Please though soldier or crimp them wires you twisted together, it’s killing me as I build wiring looms for a living 😂.

@Justin those indicator lights in the headlight, it looks like the bulb itself is orange and is reflecting off the housing. If you replace the bulb with a clear one then you would get a nice clean look on the headlight without any orange. Just a suggestion. Nice work and the car looks really good with the new headlights.

Solder those joints. If they get loose under the tape, oxidation with the changes in weather will eventually break the contact. Good video.

this might be weird but i prefer the frs headlights. they are actually the rarest oem headlight worldwide since the these headlights were exclusive to North America. the style of clear chrome headlight is the last of its kind in an era of everything being LED now

I dont think so. The BRZ light still have a manual adjustment knob on the back which is what I used to get the beam level
