You didn't show how to use cove as a reference and when to turn when you see the cone at which point in the mirrors. I'll appreciate that if you could explain from that point of reference.

Tip from someone who botched it doing it this way & had to restart! If you have to just eye it down! Use your mirrors plenty and take your time!

When you did the driver side back up you had to pull up to adjust yourself that’s a point here in Michigan if you have to pull forward

Hey Dr. Rick, I have a question that's not related to this video at all, but related to left turns at intersections. I watched your video 'How to Turn Left At Complex Intersections to Pass Road Test' from 2016, but it didn't cover the situation I had in mind. So in that video, when you have an advance green signal (or green left turn arrow), you proceed to make the left turn with the appropriate checks, but what happens if that advance green signal turns into an amber/yellow arrow? Should you still enter the intersection and finish the turn if you were behind it when it turned yellow? The light for the opposite traffic is still red so I am assuming you can still make the turn (so long as the turn light doesn't change to red), but would this be allowed for a road test? TLDR; I know that you can't enter the intersection for a turn on a solid amber/yellow light, but what about for an advance amber/yellow light for road test purposes?

Hello! I practice driving on a Honda Pilot like the one in the video here. I usually end up backing towards the cone on the driver side's left even upon using the small triangle window on the passengers side. However the same problem occurs, and the station I'm planning on taking my exam at have no lines but cones as well. If you have any tips on help, feel free to drop them down below. I've been driving for roughly a month.

Thanks for the video. I'm turning 16 tomorrow and taking my road test the next day after my birthday. 90 degree back in is probably harder for me rather than doing the parallel parking. I'm just glad that I should still be able to pass whether I do the 90 degree back in parking good or not. I just know to not hit the cones or the curb.

Anyone know where to be looking? Or where you should see the cones in your windows to then know when to turn the wheels straight. Also how and when do you know to then reverse originally? What window or alignment should I see the cone in.

Hi khurramali - Thank you for your comment and query. I would suggest that you drive into you garage and back out. It's a lot hard to reverse precisely up a grade. It is much easier to control the vehicle with the brake, than it is to control the accelerator in close quarters. Hiiii Rick 😅 Like I said yes , lol. I’m 25 with two kids so thankfully I finally got my liscense and passed! On my first try with flying colors! To be honest, my test was reallly short. I also did it through a school, I did the 8 hr drug and alcohol course and sage driving course , and Also did a 2 hr lesson also mandatory bc I used there car. It was so much easier to use their car bc I would have to go through inspection and all that. So I’m not sure if because I went thru a school, it was so easy and pretty lenient … lol. Everyone that has a test there before me , and including one girl I know personally all said the test was about 5 min to 10 min at most… it was a loop. No lights . Just going on a heavy traffic road making a left and right turn on to it, a k turn and a reverse parking. I’m here in CT. They were super nice , the guy seemed like he’s been doing it for a while as well. He had to be his mid 60’s. He was super sweet and had a really calm Energy about him. I don’t know if I got lucky with a really nice instructor , but I know I deff deserved to be legal on the road, I’m a mom and I’m not using my liscense to go out and party etc. I’m Using it to get around, for myself and kids, and that includes emergency’s . Thank you for your videos. They prepare you for everything that may possibly be on the test ! I was nervous because I had failed my permit twice , and passed 3rd time. I’m so relieved I passed first time trying my road test.

Smart Drive Test I drive a Chevy equinox and when I reverse it turns very wide. Most of the time I have to pull past the cone by a long shot so I don’t hit the second cone, and i have to guess where the first pole is because I can’t see it when I pull so far up. Any advice?
