I love that you are showing us on your natural nails. I have a nail length much closer to that than to the longer nails that I have seen typically used how to show designs. It gives me a much more realistic of what I need to do to be successful.

I wasn't expecting the intro to get me all emotional. I love you and I love Maniology. As I watch, I'd note that for me it's easier to use my scraper than Scotch tape. I was never able to do the decal method. I'm not perfect but my reverse stamping is much better since I started working from the stamper. I would never try detail work like that without letting the outline dry completely. I always end up lifting the lines! Watching you is amazing.

One technique I personally do is I will take a white Polish and put on a sponge and then sponge spots over the nail just to give it a little bit of light and lift then I stamp and it looks really nice I haven't seen too many people do that but it's something that I do ive demoed it is well.

I just recently got back into nail stamping,, after a very bad accident,, and am so excited to find you. Love your videos.. I didn't have time to read all the comments, but I have a question...Can I use either regular top coat or base coat, since I don't have the sticky base coat yet?
@lisapierce525 Жыл бұрын
Hi Betsy, I’m new here too but I just wanted to tell you, today I sat down to stamp and forgot to use a sticky base coat over my completed manicure and it stamped perfectly. I had a topcoat on my manicure but I was shocked that it worked. I heard someone say that any base coat will work as long as you stamp while it’s still sticky. My topcoat wasn’t sticky so there you go. Hope this helps and hope you’re recovering well from the accident.
@BeadingBee62 Жыл бұрын
@@lisapierce525 Thanks so much for the info. If I don't have to spend the extra money, that also helps. 😉 I'm going to try some reverse stamping next week; it'll take me that long to go through all my plates to find the perfect design. LOL!

When the 'sticky base coat' dries... will it always stay sticky or is there a 'window of opportunity' and then it loses the stickiness?
@Maniology3 жыл бұрын
Good question. Once the Sticky Base Coat has dried completely, basically it changes it's formula to be a regular base coat. It will not have a sticky surface when completely dried. So if this happens to you or you miss that window of opportunity where the surface is dry, just add more Sticky coat.

Are you using the stamper on gel polish or gel base? I thought the gels dont dry unless you put them under the light... I feel a little confused
@Maniology Жыл бұрын
Hi Rose, the polish used as base is a stamping polish. If you want to use a gel base, you can stamp on top of your completed gel manicure. After you are done stamping, just topcoat with your usual gel top coat and cure a final time. Here's a video showing you how it's done: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5_MpJ-bgbZjmbc

30 minutes on one nail, times that by 10 and your looking at about 5 hours for a mani 😬
@caiticorn3 жыл бұрын
You're right that it's not a quick mani! But in her defense, she's taking probably at *least* double the time she would if she was just doing this to her own hands. Talking through everything, showing each product's name, prefacing steps in the techniques, etc. Also takes coordination & slows things down to do this through a camera lens and make sure she maintains proper lighting. All this to say - it wouldn't take you the full time to do it for yourself. 😊 I've also heard of people coloring in reverse stamping designs & leaving them overnight or even for a day or two & placing them on their nails as a new manicure later. So maybe someone's doing this while watching TV one night & they do their mani later. I've thought about this for nights that I don't feel like doing even a full plain (non-stamped) mani but have a little bit of a nail polish itch. 😉
@BeadingBee62 Жыл бұрын
I personally spent 4 hrs. one evening stamping my nails. Certain plates weren't working, certain stampers had to be washed, took me forever to pick colors & designs, etc... Plus, I always do one hand at a time, so I can still do other things if needbe with my unpolished hand (TMI...like going to the bathroom, having a drink/cigarette/playing with my 3 kitties, etc...LOL). Doing your nails, (no matter which way) is not a quick endeavor, especially if you want to get it right. I soooo appreciate all of these folks on KZbin for the time they spend making these videos to help the rest of us. ❤👍
