Most scissors fail not because they are not sharp, but because they have lost their "set". To set scissors, take each side in your hands and at several points along it bear its tip gently against a table top or edge, bending it toward the other blade, and then do that for the other blade as well. Eyeball where the blades are meeting as you scissor them together, the blade should meet at a place that moves up toward the tips as the tips close.

I like how people come in here with "This is not a hack" as if they expected him to make a laser cannon out of the scissors.
@joblessalex11 жыл бұрын
Another good one is to squeeze the tips of the blades together when cutting thick items. It transfers more force to what you're cutting.

It doesn't matter if you're serious or not. Joking about something is by definition making light of it, in a sense trivializing it.

I don't have speakers for my phone and I like listening to music in the shower so I put my phone in a regular double Ziploc sandwich bag. Sounds good, saves money, and my phone stays dry. I wouldn't recommend taking pictures though. They always turn out blurry.... hahaha

if you empty the contents of a non toxic highlighter out of its shell, you can squeeze the inner ink cartridge into a glass of water. it will glow a neon color and is completely safe if its a non toxic highlighter. it also doesn't leave a nasty taste.

Often times, the blades are loosening as well. If they screw down with a nut, tighten it (you may need a different screw). If they are riveted, lik the ones in this video. Clamp it down in a vice, using a hammer to drive it tighter, then impact the vice a few times with a mallet or mini-sledge. the energy is actually enough to work the metal and tighten the rivet. Interesting side fact. Copper can be heated up by strong or focused impact. I use this to forge copper parts for mechanical devices.

Aluminum foil is decently rigid for it's thickness, that makes it easier to cut. Paper towels are normally very soft and flexible, ergo, not as easy to cut. :D

Cheapest Iron Man costume! Attach a "Stick N Click" LED night light to your t-shirt, put on the proper attire, and you're Tony Stark! They come in round AND triangular shapes. I did this for a few costume parties and got a lot of compliments on how innovative yet simple the idea was. I ran into Batman and said, "Hey, Batman. . . I'm Iron Man. . . [click] Lol! Surpisingly, no one really notices until you turn it on, especially if you're wearing a suit with the shirt open. Hope you like the idea!
