How to REVIVE FADED paint with 2 products | ULTIMATE COMPOUND | 3 in 1 *Day In The Bay

Welcome to the Meguiars UK KZbin Channel.
We're back with another Day in the Bay!
Today's challenge was to restore this Mk2 Volkswagen Golf's, faded and damaged paint to reveal.
Red paint is renowned for fading. The UV rays hit the paint causing a faded/pink coloured illusion looking like it's destined for the paint shop. Using our hero product, the Ultimate Compound we can use both methods of hand application and Dual Action Polishing to restore the paint to it's glossy red.
Ultimate Compound contains paint cleaners within its formula to help restore faded red paint.
The second stage is to use the 3 in 1 Wax which contains a high level of polishing oils within it to boost gloss and at the same time leave a layer of long lasting wax.

I love this channel, but 1 thing I wish the bass-heavy music and the talking are at the same loudness level. I have to constantly adjust my volume to slow down the music, then turn it back up again for the talking! I found all videos in this channel have the same problem... I love the finish of meguiar's ultimate Black! But even after a cure of 12 hours there are still traces after a good rain! So we must iron a microfiber, why?, Pity it is not more hydrophobic not to leave traces of water after the rain!, Detailer all season dressing looks better and without traces after the rain ! By cons with Ultimate Black I had a better result by combining it with hybrid ceramic wax: Ultimate Black with cure of 12h, then hybrid ceramic wax. The hydrophobic effect is better and looks to leave less water marks after the rain and the look is cool!

I just did a cut on a Milano Red 200 Integra (using macguires ultimate cut) and my cutting pad had no red residue on the pad. Any idea on what I’m doing wrong? Pretty sure it’s a single stage paint. Perhaps I’m not putting enough pressure? Thanks in advance for tips or pointers

hi did this to an old red renault kangoo recently with meguiars 3 in 1 looked good after but then i tried to polish it with turtle wax seal and shine had nothing but haze, tried a fast wax still the same its like the paint is absorbing the wax and won't buff off the more i tried the worse it got

Is Mirror Bright Polishing Wax MB0214EU also good to do this job by hand on a 1991 Seat Toledo? I believe they have the same "tornado red" colour as on the Golf, on the video.

@@meguiarsuk Ah, I thought Mirror Bright enough itself, because product info says it polishes gently. My car is not very damaged, I only have some colour fading (oxidation). Can I skipp Ultimate Compound?

@@benc2499 The polish wont remove any of the fading. It's the paint cleaning abilities withing Ultimate Compound that remove that oxidised paint.

You just need to be careful with a rotary as it produces a lot more heat. You can still get fantastic results by hand. We'd suggest something like our Supreme Drying towel X1802EU

I am from india. Mequiars products are excellent. I have some products but can not afford all necessary products. 1) can i apply compound by fine sponge then rub with microfiber towel ? Will it gives effective results ? 2) i have ultimate quick wax only for main source coat of wax which wax is best gold class caranuba pulse or nxt techwax 2.0 for 2k paint. How often i can apply main source of wax. If i am using main source coat of wax may be gold class or nxt tech 2.0 then its safe and effective ultimate quick wax spray ? 3) my car is 7 years old and i have not clayed it before. How often i can clay my car. 4) is it important to remove polishing oil before wax by ipa solution? 5) what time gap is require after compound > to polish > to wax. Please tell me if any precaution is needed ? Thanks in advance i am beginner i want my car clean and glossy.

1. We would suggest using Ultimate Compound with one of our Even Coat applicator pads. 2. The NXT is all out gloss and fully synthetic. Ultimate Quik wax will only give you a few weeks worth of protection. If you want a longer lasting protection try Ultimate Paste or Liquid wax. 3. It depends on the car. If it's heavily contaminated and you want to remove those defects you can clay as many times as you like but it will remove any wax protection. 4. A simple microfibre towel will do the job to wipe off any excess product. 5. Time gap? You can do one stage after the next straight away. However it's important to remove both Compound and Polish immediately. A wax you need to leave to cure.

@@meguiarsuk Thanks for valuable reply. 1) mequiars ultimate wax paste/liquid is quite expensive 55$. If i use gold class or nxt tech as main source and after weekly wash then apply mequiars ultimate quick spray is it ok ? Chemical properties of wax, protection and gloss point of veiw.
