Well I picked it up and it was the first time I rode in a while after my msf class (about 8 months) so I rode it around the parking lot of the dealership and that was sketchy af but none the less I decided just to ride it home and not get it delivered. The way out of the dealership had a hill and a red light so I stalled like 2 times but after that it was a fairly smooth ride home. From there I took it out every chance I got and rode everywhere I could. I just fell in love with the bike. I kinda hated the sound it made but it really grew on me. I got really comfortable with the bike and on a empty highway I wanted to see what the bike could do and I pinned it and got up to around 113 mph. I loved the r3 it is a great little bike I love everything about it’s awesome to ride. I miss it a lot. I got into an accident with it about a month and half after I got it. I was merging onto the highway and I looked over my shoulder to make sure I was clear and by the time I looked back traffic ahead was a lot slower than I had expected and I panicked and grabbed a handful of front brake and that sent me flying. Luckily my gear took most of it. I got away with some road rash on my left knee and some on my right wrist. Oh and I found out I had a hair line fracture on my tail bone. But overall it wasn’t too bad. My bike didn’t look too bad either. However my bike was totaled due to some frame damage on the taillights area. I loved the little r3 to death. I plan on work over the summer to make enough money to maybe even by another r3 or maybe even an mt03 to mix it. But to sum it up I loved it and I’m really glad I started out on an r3.

Bought mine almost a month ago (2021 model silver) it’s my current therapy and escape, bad thing is im hiding it from my parents, even tho im almost 24 they’d never approve and maybe blackmail me into selling it right away. I only ride at night when the streets are pretty much empty. I love the R3 tho and i feel its such an underrated bike, I could easily bang more gears and have more fun on city streets and twisties than a 600-1000cc. Not to mention her looks, weight and size, its perfect for me. Only thing i miss is a nice exhaust tone. It sounds pretty decent stock, but miles away from a zx6r or even an R6 for that matter.

The engine breaking period Yamaha suggest is nearly impossible especially if you have to use the highway or live in a hilly area. You have to ride between 6-10k rpms in those situations. If not it just chugs along. Plus it vibrates like crazy at around 4k. I did my first oil change at 300 miles instead of 600 to help offset the increased rpms.

I have a 21 r3, been practicing up and down my street when its nice out but any tips to help not ride the clutch when down shifting… i thought it was okay to just hold in the clutch while i bang it down from 3 to 1 at stop signs since i understand which speeds are appropriate for the gears but not trying to f up the clutch too soon. I have some bike time under my belt but nothing serious and i can always learn more. Especially since this will be my commuter coming up for the spring. Any tips help and still repeat watch your videos so i can get an understanding! Since it directly correlates to my r3! Can’t wait for you to upload more bro and stay safe!

When you’re shifting from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, 5th to 6th, do you need to slowly release the clutch after you shift or do you only do that when you start from a stop?

If I may share, on my 1st gear I slowly release my clutch until I feel the engine starts to move (biting point) then totally released. In shifting higher, once gear is shift up then I abruptly released at biting point to maintain momentum but not letting engine kick harder and just enough to feel its power then totally released. I hope I didn’t confused anyone.

It's not better make the shift at 6000-8000 rpm and Cruise at 6.000? Even downshift if you go down from this range to stay there. I feel si more fun and safier because You have power if You need.

Here in Idaho all you have to do is take a test for your permit if you 18. Than when you see comfortable, you can take the skills test for endorsement

First of all, AWESOME VIDEO. I love it. Second, I’m sorry but I don’t understand why riders get nervous about cops being in the area where they’re at. If you’re not doing anything wrong then what do you have to worry about? I’m in law enforcement and we’re human. We get curious. If we stare at you it’s because we’re nosey and curious. Like every other human on this planet. We don’t automatically think you’re doing something wrong. What you’re doing in this lot is innocent and to be honest, cop can’t do much because you’re on private property anyways. Only one who has control is the owner of the lot. Being a cop, bothers me that people are bothered just by our presence.. come up and talk to us. Get to know us for us, not because we’re wearing a uniform and in a cop car. Rant over with, I can’t wait to ride my R3 😇
