I forgot to talk about stopping in hills, I would suggest holding your bake brace down, it makes it easier to stay still!

Speaking of being familiar with how your bike handles I still like to weave around the covers and/or potholes in the road. Its a nice irregular pattern to help with that bike control.

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. The Yamaha R3 is my favorite bike which I fell in love with, and dude you actually don't know how long I've been searching for a R3-vlogger. Unfortunately, I am not old enough to ride this bike yet, but next year I will. Btw in Germany, where I live, you can only get a drivers license for this at 18 years old and I'm only 17. So I'll continue dreaming for another year I guess ;)

R3 is a great bike . First thing you need are mirror extenders because the basic supplied mirrors are hopeless. Second is always, yes always wear the right gear. Wear proper riding boots not shoes with laces. Thirdly use front and back brakes. In the U.K. licences restrictions are much tougher than in U.S. I can't believe how the U S authorities allow inexperienced riders to buy medium and large bikes when they don't have the skill or knowledge to handle them. Seems plain crazy.

Got my MSF scheduled for October 10th. Did you do the coarse? I’ve been pretty set on the r3 but a few people I talk to say to get something bigger because they say you’re gonna want more power. Do you find yourself wanting more power on the highway?

Good for you man. I didn’t, I tried to take the corse. But, because of COVID it wasn’t happening. I personally don’t finding myself needing more power on the highway! I think it does great :)

@@gh0st271 hi...i have the naked old version of your bike , "MT03" ...and the power is just enought! i had many many bikes (600cc,1000cc, 250cc,125, 50, 750,etc etc) even dirt bikes and...that bike is the "pinigale of perfection".Just to get an idea, Tyres on that yamaha lost 5 x more than others . I get more fun on that than my last honda cbr 1000 rr

I was on the same boat. I bet you've seen alot videos saying the 400 is more superior mainly because it's faster. I was more leaning towards getting a 400 but I just didn't like how it look. I feel in love with the r3 at first sight. I've got a r3 now and it is fast enough I don't know why people say it's slow. It's fast enough to the point that it's dangerous.

@dillon Are we allowed to buy bike and insurance using just the permit? I got my permit last week and have been looking at Yamaha R3 as well as Ninja 400. I need some more practice before I feel comfortable taking the endorsement test. Also if you don't mind, how much is the insurance? Is there a difference in insurance cost between a rider with permit VS a rider with endorsement/license?

I Pay $104 for my insurance, it depends on what coverage you get. Yes, you’re allowed to have insurance with just a permit, it might depend on the state you’re in. My rate didn’t change when I got my endorsement/license

I'm taking the MSF course in the next 2 weeks. I like the R3 as an option, but also the Kawasaki Ninja 400. They are about the same price. What are your quick thoughts if you have time? I've watched a few of your videos.

Hello mate, I got the same bike just a week ago , its my first bike and has 600 mile on it when I got it, I noticed when I turn on the bike there is some gas smell, not sure if that's normal or because of the aftermarket exhaust ?

Hmmm... I don’t think that is normal man. I’ve never heard of a gas smell being normal. I would ask the person you bought it from!
