Rattlesnake is one of my favorite trails. I've seen a couple guys get airlifted out after crashes. My buddy from Arizona crashed at the very bottom crashed and broke a couple ribs but gutted out the remainder of the ride. I moved away ten years ago so it's been a while but when we got to the bottom of the fire road after Rattlesnake we'd head through the paved parking lot, take a left on a short fire road and then take the steep singletrack (I Think I Can) that goes up the hill to the south of the way you ascended out. That climb tested your manhood. We'd also go up Poles when we were feeling really masochistic.

Stoked to hear about the SLO trip and dig the “about town” vlogs too. Your trail guide videos have helped me so much over the past few years and your other vlogs have put places like Downeyville and Sedona on my bucket list. Thanks for all the great content! PS… crushing that sketch section at rattlesnake! 🤙🏼

One of my favorite Laguna trails, definitely worth it. I take Ticketron on the way back to break up the climb. More singletrack = more fun!

So rad, I think watching your descent of the technical section of Rattlesnake made me realize how good you really are on the bike. Even the alternate lines on that descent are pretty hectic and you mobbed straight through the worst ones! Really cool to watch and go pro definitely doesn't do the sections justice. I ride that zone a ton and love ticketron, super fun especially in the winter when yo can go as fast as possible, it's a great warmup trail. I really like to climb out on E Cut Across, aka I Think I Can, because then you get the climb done quick and the Moro Ridge always feels like a nicer way back then the canyon for me, maybe because you have more of a view. Then finish it off with Old Emerald or Emerald Falls maybe? Anyway, love these vids man, don't ever stop makin em, I've used them so many times before I try a new trail.

I rode this Rattle snake trail earlier this year and it was so overgrown I had to almost walk it! I work fairly close to SLO and one of my favorite places to ride is in Montana de Oro, Oats peak is no joke at the end even with an e-bike it's super steep over the last 1/4 mile! Slo has lots of great trails and a fun city.

That trail is one of the reasons I'm thinking about getting an e-bike. I like to front load the climbing and Rattlesnake doesn't work for that. You might give Turtle Ridge a shot. That's another one that is hard to work into an ideal route but it's pretty sweet.

Did a loop on Wednesday of old Emerald to Missing link and fenceline to Rattlesnake to TNA. 17 miles, 2600 feet of climbing, and two brutal climbs. Hard to recommend Rattlesnake considering the climb to downhill ratio, but Old Emerald should ne ridden more. Super fast and Chunky

Hi from mike A from LA CA. I think a trail you might like is the JPL TRAIL in Pasadena . or also named the jet prepulsion Lab trail. You start at the parking lot. Take that through a yellow gate on to a fire road . it goes through a river. With lots of water crossings then a BEATIFUL and techy river bed with a long rock garden. Then an impossible shally rocky switch back single track uphill SHITY hike a bike. I forget the rest of the trail. But its a great trail. BEATIFUL scenery. And if you want to swim there are lots of swimming holes along the way. This trail will beat you and your bike up.

@@TheOutsiderMTB I ordered the Scout 2 pants and just waiting to try them out hopefully over the weekend. It all depends on the trails dry out up here in the Bay Area. They do fit well and the folks over at Tasco were great wth their customer service. Thanks again! Ride safe and give the pup a belly rub too!

Don't E-bikes make the horrific climb out of here a non-issue? Even if you don't have an E-bike, ride the killer Rattlesnake anyway! You may suffer a bit on the climbs out but you'll be working off all that beer, pizza and burritos that you consumed earlier and will be consuming later!

@@TheOutsiderMTB your initial video inspired me to ride it years ago. I did it again last year - parked at the bottom of Stenner Creek and climbed (walked ) up Shooters which was super tough - but the MG/B descent and Eucs area is so worth it, esp at sunset. Rattlesnake dh looked rowdy btw !!
