You make it look so easy 😂 1) Mounting foot toes make you go forward. 2) Dominant heel make you go backwards. Interesting because when I go forward I lean forward and when I brake I tilt back and sometimes squat down. I’ll have to give this a go because I need to learn newer things. I also watched your seated video. I have a seat for my Inmotion V11Y but the Velcro keeps coming off. I also have the Gotway Mten3 about 2 feet away from me where I will be installing a trolley handle for it hopefully sometime this week.

I would also summe it is the size of the wheel that the user has to contend with . Smaller wheels are easier from what I hear and larger wheels not so easy. Hope this helps you go backwards.

Thanks. This video has some new ideas. I've been working on it for an eternity and for me, it's not easy. But, I only have larger wheels, the smallest being an RS19, so not small. I think an MTen-whatever would be too small, but under 50 pounds would be good.

Thank you for checking this out. There were some concepts that were very hard to explain like the dominant foot steering. Im not sure if this will help for bigger wheel, but, Try focusing on your dominant foot. When in that transition to go backwards put all that energy into the dominant heel and steer it to your right , and use your mounting heel to counter steer slightly to the left to get you going back straight. When wanting to go forward again into a transition, lean and put pressure on your mounting foot (balls of feet). That is what helped me get it a couple weeks ago. Im going to try my method with my Patton next and see if the theory still applies to medium/large wheels :p

Thanks for the comment. The next skill I think that could be important other than basic riding skills is jumping over curbs/obstacles and seated riding. Jumping over things is my weakness currently since i tend to fly off the wheel (and bend rim). lol

Teaching someone how to ride backwards or do tricks on the smallest wheel doesn't help anyone with heavier wheel. Weight of the wheel matter greatly with EUC just like motorcycles. No one is trying to jump ramps on a Honda Goldwing, but a dirt bike they jump ramps all day long... A light wheel like a Mten3/Mten4 can be easily controlled especially if leaned to one side or the other. With a heavier wheels, if it leans to a side it is falling and you have to start all over again. All KZbinrs please stop making tutorials with these super small wheels, it don't help anyone who wheels 65+ pounds

I agree with your statement that bigger wheels are harder for backwards riding, however this video was never intended as a how to ride backwards with bigger wheel as you can see The title clearly includes "Tips and Tricks with the Mten 3" , which is a small wheel. It would make sense for anyone needing to learn backwards will start with a smaller wheel or a beater up wheel instead of a bigger wheel they are trying to take care of, or one, like you mention being larger and harder to control. Since I just learned to ride backwards on a SMALL wheel and seem to have it down, i will impart my findings and make a video. As a KZbinr, i will make content that i want , and when i please but thank you for watching and giving me your comment.

@@WILSONsHobbies After I've put a lot of miles on my EUCs, they are all "beater" to some degree. But for this backward stuff, I've been sticking to my oldest, lightest, and most banged-up wheel. I like technical and off-road, so falls happen. Often 😄.
