before installing the new filter, it is recommended to 1/2fill the filter with oil and let it sit so the filter can absorb the oil. a great video..thanks

Well done on both the oil change and the video. This is very informative and clear. I found the tips especially valuable. You really drive home the importance of keeping your mower's engine clean. Thanks for uploading this.

$20 for an oil filter? I recommend looking for one on Ebay. Most mower oil filters contain the same media as a Prime Guard, which costs $4.

Ebay is always a good place to find stuff. I just wanted to let people know where to get it if they were looking. Just trying to help people out..... Thanks for watching!

I liked the video bro. But umm my mower doesnt have that release valve. I think i have to unscrew guess they call it a hex nut. Any ideas if the ride on craftsman LT 1500 420cc has a release valve? Must be changed asap
@xsjadomonkey8 жыл бұрын
Firstly, sorry about the late reply!! Did you end up finding a valve?

is the oil filter necessary for change?
@xsjadomonkey7 жыл бұрын
Mr.Mr. & More Mr. It's the same as a car. When you get your oil changed, you remove contaminants like dirt and even metal pieces. The filter protects the engine from these things. If you keep your same filter, you keep the bad stuff and there is risk for re-entry back into the engine. If you want a clean engine, change the filter :)

Nice video. It looks like you need to sharpen your mower blades, the grass looks ripped off instead of cut.
@xsjadomonkey8 жыл бұрын
Yeah. At the time of this video they really needed sharpening haha. Thanks for watching and commenting!

lol it was more of a way to show how dirty the area actually is. I could have taken it off quickly, but I also didn't know how much dirt was there. I could have knocked a bunch of nasty shit into the oil well. If you like dirt in your oil.....cool?
@nike12000haha9 жыл бұрын
You put oil on the rubber of the filter not to make it "tighter" but to make it come off easier next time...
