thank you this made my job safe, compared to a very old table saw I have that has zero safety guards. I did however forget to adjust my saw height and almost cut thru my table on the first board! However I got the job done and stopping for the clamps wasn't as cumbersome as I thought it would be.

So you can keep ripping without slipping. Thanks for the video!

I love the simplicity of these videos. My sacrificial wood is dusted off and Amazon are bringing my Dewalt circular saw today to begin my wood flooring. I’m feeling trepidatiously confident so any tips, including using the dewalt guide fence with 20mm tongue and groove appreciated, as my very first circular saw cut EVER needs to be a 7cm engineered board rip😅 😥

I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great kzbin.infoUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

Honestly I’ve got some 120CM planks to trim & I don’t own a table saw, I’ve had this thought of solving the issue but haven’t seen others use it? To see it done on this video so easily however kind of gets me asking the question again why others build improvised jigs for circular saw long cuts? am I missing something or just being paranoid, obviously I’m very much a beginner to woodwork about to start my second project after a very successful first but capable, would appreciate some feed back from ppl on this long cut issue.

Can it cut straight down the middle of that piece of wood?

Since the board is floating above the sacrificial board, do you really need the blade to graze the bottom?

You know just in case. To protect your work table.

The sacrificial board doesn’t seem to be under the actual cut. If that’s the case the board isn’t sacrificial it’s simply elevates the piece that you’re cutting. Am I missing something?

This feels a bit too fiddly... I've been looking for a painless way to rip 90 x 35mm timber into 20mm thick strips with my circular saw. The least annoying option I've found so far is screwing my board onto a sacrificial piece. That means I can rip 3 strips off it before I need to take off the screws and move to the next piece. I feel that moving clamps 3 times for each cut would drive me insane 😂

I'm here because I need to rip 20 6ft long 3/4" stripsand I don't have a table saw... the clamp method would drive me insane, so I guess I'll try and build a huge rip jig lol

I was thinking more of what Americans call 2x4, perhaps to remove curves.
