The tires after being mounted to the rim needs to be driven, this is to seat the bead and to heat the sidewall to operating temp. The road-force need to be performed on tires at operating temp only, If this is not done the road force is just a sales pitch.

Back before all the computer technology, it was a very rudimentary process to balance wheels and tires... balancing a tire with a bubble balancer
@chrisk-man856210 жыл бұрын
G&C Tire and Auto Service Too bad my local Town Fair couldn't balance my tires after three attempts(two at no charge) - non road-force shop. Never going there again except for the tires themselves. Will have them mounted/balanced at the local dealer(has Road Force).
@ricochetey7 жыл бұрын
Zickcermacity Roadforce is irrelevant and inaccurate I have the same model and it is constantly off or the Roadforce is worse after spinning the tire the best way is to balance the tire regular and the one that spins the best goes to left front right front and so on
@Zickcermacity7 жыл бұрын
Ricochety: You speak either from a position of ignorance, or, from the perspective of someone who either was not trained in the use of RF or did not consult the setup/operating manual. I have had nothing, NOTHING, but outstanding results on my vehicles with RF as said before, will continue to use providers equipped only with road force balancers.

what is crazy is how fast it actually is to put the masking tape on there, but nobody does it. I'd pay $5-10 more per wheel to have them take this level of care, and I don't even have that nice of rims.

Have you seen in tire shops in Florida adding letters to the side of tires? Looks like they are glued on? You can get anything spelled out on the sidewalls.
@jldude844 жыл бұрын
Damn it's getting expensive to have custom wheels these days. You gotta buy the rims, then tires, then mounting them and swapping TPMS sensors over there's another $130+, then God forbid static balancing doesn't get em right then you gotta do this it's just crazy how much shit that's not rubber or alloy adds up.
@Synthwave894 жыл бұрын
@@jldude84 For real dude. And you have to worry about finding a place that won't scuff your wheels or that will balance it right the first time.

Had 4 new snow tires mounted on new steel wheels and road force balanced locally. First road force balance ever. Out of curiosity I pulled out my antique snap on hand spin balancer from the 60's that has served me well for a LONG time. It says my balance is off a huge amount on all 4. Why are they so different. Am I that out of touch with new technology?
@GCTireandAutoService4 жыл бұрын
Wish someone else would chime in . . . . but it should be the difference between a static balance and a dynamic balance. Anyone else agree or disagree?
@jldude844 жыл бұрын
I'm confused, isn't the purpose of road force balancing to find if a tire is out of round? If so, I don't see how this procedure has fixed that issue. Unless the procedure is only to get a static balance measurement with a load applied to the sidewall...
@1769885 жыл бұрын
I'm all for taping the wheel and I 100% agree with that procedure. But why wouldn't the tech have used the fingers to eliminate the risk of debris from the cone?
@GCTireandAutoService4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jon - I will find out. I agree, it is easy to damage a rim & they are not cheap to replace for a customer or have them repaired.

I bought a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe and I have vibrations with all seasons and winters at much of the same speeds, I'm thinking its not just the tires is something else out of alignment, I don't think the tech is the best like this guy.
