I’ve gone to a skating rink where you can either rent Roller skates or roller blades. My entire family can only ride on roller skates, but I can only ride rollerblades. They tried so hard to get me to use roller skates, but I refused every time where as on rollerblades I go faster than them and actually won a race once.
@theresachacon11224 жыл бұрын
I went to a roller rink with my sister once and I told her that I wanted to use the inline skates rather than the quads but she had me use quads anyway and I spent most of the time in the rink just hugging the wall and I did eventually get used to the feel of the quads. It was kind of hard at first because I wasn't used to it.

@stopjewelstop5 жыл бұрын
Ew, inline is hard! I can only quad
@jelliejam5 жыл бұрын
It's different for each person!! I quad skate, but roller blading has always come a lot more naturally to me. I think it depends on how your feet naturally are set on the ground. Quads have a shorter distance from the front to back wheels than inline do, but of course, quads make up for it in the width.
@jtblenker5 жыл бұрын
Blading and roller skating are just different. Blading has more ankle work because the wheels are in a line but you can also lean much farther forward before tipping over because the front wheel is in front of your toes. Roller skating has a much wider base and requires less work for your ankles but turning can be more stressful on knees (the wider base plants your foot more) and you can tip forward easier as your wheels are under the balls of your feet.
@bellanthea5 жыл бұрын
for me they're a whole lot easier. i started on quads and practiced for a bit and was still wobbly but i near-immediately was able to rollerblade around my neighborhood with confidence i didn't have with the quads. i tried on the roller skates again expecting them to be easier but they're still very difficult for me to use.
@faithbridges94015 жыл бұрын

I've gotten to be a pretty decent quad skater over the last year or so. But there's just something about inline skates that was so much cooler to me as a kid. Maybe I'll blame it on Rocket Power, Brinx, and that cool inline skate Barbie doll. The aesthetic is just so 90's! I recently found some inline skates at the local thrift shop that were my size so I decided to buy them. I gave them one trip at the running track I quad skate at and it did not go well! Now the inlines are collecting dust in my closet! I just couldn't figure out how to inline skate as a kid (oooh boy I tried!), and I really can't seem to figure it out now as an adult...YET! maybe this vid will give me some good tips and motivation to try again! : )

I'm just learning to rollerblade. I'm 48 and never skated on ice as a child. About twenty years ago I tried to learn to rollerblade and got nowhere. Then I started again two weeks ago. Today was my fourth time on the skates and I made a major discovery: I find it easier to keep my balance if I try to put my weight evenly between heels and toes. When I concentrate on this I can feel when the skates starts to slip out from under me (either to the front or behind). I'll try again tomorrow :)
