New fig grower 1st time doing cuttings and I was wondering if I should put them in the ground this summer or wait until next spring. I’m also going to have to prevent the root knot nematodes from getting too my fig trees, any suggestions for a plan of attack? I’m in N.FL

👍🏻 Very Good Informative Video. Can I Ask You A Question? Do You Know If This Fig Tree Rooting Method Works The Same With (ALL) Fruit Tree Cuttings? (Scions)

How long do you leave the cutting in the plastic bag? Should the cutting in the bag be kept indoors? Thank you.

Hi Charles, how long fig's branch being wrapped? Thanks
@nicolenguyen698310 ай бұрын
According to your KZbin above, you did a small cut on the branch, dipped into root hormone then wrapped branch in little wet paper towel. I need to how your branch stay in that wet paper towel. That's all. Thank you.

*Thanks for the informative video!* *You're a couple weeks ahead of me, with these ones you're transplanting.* *Right now, 2 of the 3 cuttings you gave me with my order, have growth, e.g.; Kevin's "Kadota", and Edgar's "Yellow Long Neck Fig".* *Nothing showing on Fig Hunter's "796"* *It was good to learn that I should cut off the little figs, to encourage more growth. - (I was going to keep them on)* *Thumbs up # 22*

Hey Mr Malki! I love your KZbin videos. Especially the one where you cut your amazing fig tree down for grafting. So cool! I’m in the UK and recently bought a mature-ish fig tree, it’s standard shape and too tall and thin - apx 3meters. It’s planted against a fence and I want to espalier it. I’ve found some nodes/buds at about 30-60cm high but seeing as I just planted it a month ago, should I wait until it establishes and cut back next year? Thanks so much for any advice 🌱💚 also - so bummed I can’t find any green plant guard here in the UK. I’m still looking though 🤞

Last winter I use the 50/50 mix as I have a lot of cuttings that rotted. I'm thinking the vermiculite holds too much water and to go with straight perlite next time or a lot less percentage of vermiculite in the mix. Has anyone ever used Straight perlite?
@LuminousTurtle20298 ай бұрын
Late reply, but yes, I only had perlite and it worked like a charm. The roots that grew were insane. So perlite only works fine.

LOOKING TO TRADE FIG CUTTINGS . . . I live in Maryland (Zone 7A) and will have plenty of Chicago Hardy fig cuttings that I am looking to trade for cuttings of other cold hardy fig varieties (Celeste, Brown Turkey, Violette de Bordeaux, Petite Negra, White Marseilles, Texas Everbearing or any other proven cold hardy variety). If interested, send me a message. Thanks!
