Hi Max, i recently used your method to root my s9+, and it worked. I know that once rooted, it is not possible to use samsung pay, but I found a way around it. I managed to bypass the "Access denied" message and set up samsung pay on my gear s3. figured out one thing, there is no need to flash the root/OEM twice. Before insalling magisk manger just soft reboot your phone and it should work

Hey Max, I dont know if you will see this but I have 1 problem. It works fine and well. But when I open Magisk, and check Safetynet it both shows false. So I try updating Magisk even when you said you shouldn't do it. I could fix it anyway if it would brick. And it then shows true on Safetynet. But after a while the Root apps are not working properly. They do at first but after a while they don't. And then when I restart my phone it will be stuck on the Samsung screen. What can I do about that? Have a Galaxy S9+ SM-G965F

You don't have to, I root my phones so I can easily backup app/app+data to other phones since I own many, also many 3rd party accessories like game controllers require full root to get overlay permission so rooted phones make it 10 times easier for stuff like that. Now, the question is, do you even have a phone that can be rooted? Most Qualcomm models cannot be rooted these days anyways so you may be out of luck unless you even have the right model.

Works on S9+ with the latest stock firmware as of July 5 2019 - (i have G965FXXU5CSF4) - Edit. while it did work initially, it reverted to where you needed to reflash the oem zip file. How i fixed this was i uninstalled the current magisk manager (it was the updated version but still, redownloaded the manager and installed it again. it stuck this time. now fully rooted

BTW you can find most of device's rooting files in XDA forum. Just search "your device name XDA" and find the thread with TWRP or root. Eg: Galaxy s8 XDA.

At @6:40 in your video, you say to hold down Vol Up + Bixby + Power once Odin is done and the phone's screen goes blank. However, in your written instructions, in Step 8 (the corresponding step), you say to hold down Vol DOWN + Bixby + Power. I assume it's Vol UP + Bixby + Power since that takes you into recovery mode (which is where you want to be, not download mode), but I want to be triple sure before I actually try this on my own S9+. It's been a few years since I've rooted anything, so I'm going over your instructions very carefully!

It does not work!!! odin can not install the twrp despite that I do everything the same. Phone does not go to black screen and Odin says it is failed to download the image...My device is exynos and it is not brand new, and unfortunatelly after the Pie update I dont have the OEM unlock option. I used to have it. I have also tried the reversing back time solution which did nothing. In some of the websites it says that it is already unlocked that's why we do not see it :(

you can just disable auto-reboot in odin options.. it wont reboot the phone after flashing and you can take your time to reboot into twrp
