How To: Rostra Cruise Control Install for Vanagon. Add some comfort on those long drives!

We finally add a long awaited accessory to our Westy by installing a Rostra cruise control system! In this video we cover the parts needed, the installation of the control box, column mounted control stalk, and all of the wiring needed including the install of a GoWesty speed sensor.

How do I ADJUST my Roastra cruise control? It lets gor for any hill and most postholes☹️

You need to adjust the dip switches on the unit. GoWesty has a starting point for settings in their instructions and TheSamba has many threads outlining dip switch settings that others have used. Nate

It will work with any vehicle as long as it has a pull type throttle body, so yes it should work on your 80. Is that carb or FI? Not that it really matters, just curious. nate

It should work for any engine with a throttle cable so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for a diesel. Nate
