Thank you. They just introduced the double bag to our league, and some girls have been confused about foot placement and which bag to round the base on. I figured it didn't change, but I needed to see it from a pro 😁!

Not the way our coaches taught us to round bases, we always touched with the left foot.

Focusing on "pushing off of first base" and forcing the track to second base into a straight line will slow the runner. Any technique that results in the runner slowing down while rounding is incorrect. Rounding should be a tight and smooth arc. The exact track through first base cannot be cloned for every player. To do so ignores physics. A fast runner's momentum will require an arc that is a bit longer. Slow runners have less momentum and can round more tightly. Also, what is demonstrated here is something similar to the old "banana turn". Batter-runners should be able to visualize the spot where their most efficient arc through first base begins and head straight toward that spot as soon as they realize they will be making the turn toward second base. That could be anywhere as they proceed down the line. It could even be when the ball leaves the bat. 🤔
