How to SAFELY CLEAN, POLISH and get the DENTS out of your Vintage Pocket Watch Case! (Hamilton pt 4)

Afternoon... I just used a tiny amount of "Flitz" metal polish on the Keystone/J. Boss gold plated case of my railroad grade Waltham "Crescent Street" pocket watch - it's remarkable how it literally "Lit up" the old golden full-hunter case! Used a square of a white cotton T-shirt, worked marvelously...the "Flitz" even leaves a wax-like residue that they claim will protect whatever from subsequent tarnishings. Indeed - the Renaissance Wax is the gold standard within the conservationist's bailiwick, pricey - but the tiny cannister will likely last one a lifetime! My Waltham currently has a plastic chrystal, where can I find a nice glass one? Any Waltham deserves a nice glass chrystal, eh? Enjoyed watching your work, thanks & take care...

I have had my PML Stem Grease for years, and did not realize how difficult it was to find it now. If I run out, I plan on purchasing the KT-22 Stem Lube, as it looks like it will work fine. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I use Whites crystals also. He makes the finest crystals I have ever seen. I do not cement in My crystals . They are actually a friction fit from the factory . The only time I will cement one in is when the bezel is slightly larger not grossly larger .

what kind of cloth do You recommend to wipe a case ( after polishing) so as not scratch a polished case

I use a "jeweler's cloth" and the brand I use is "Fabulustre". You can find lots of different brands on Amazon!

The best place is Ebay - they are cheaper! However, you can google it and click on "images" and it has pictures and you can see the websites where they sell them. Google " Stem Sleeve Removal Tool Pocket Watch" for the correct one. 🙂
