@AMDetails Жыл бұрын
That is a great point, and hey, there is absolutely no problem with using lubricant. Many people do differently, Foma on soap and clay over that, shampoo/water mix in a bottle or dedicated clay lubricant. There are many, many options. But our bar releases an emulsion when using it, which for the soft abrasive in it, works great. We need a selling point, and that's it. It's soft, easy to use and doesn't require a dedicated lubricant. Hope this helps. I will check in and assist further if required. Thanks for the questions Alan 😎👍🔔

What do you think of spraying tar remover. (Applies to iron remover too) then cover them with ph neutral snow foam? So it can dweel longer and maybe it the iron / tar remover can be more effective?
@attention2detailswchelsea7 ай бұрын
In theory, it could work, but you don’t know what those chemicals combined will do because sometimes when you combine an acid and an alkaline, it makes a super cleaning power and it could increase the potency so unless the manufactures have designed to work that way, ideally I wouldn’t recommend it, but it couldn’t hurt to test it out but personally I just do it one at a time because you’re gonna get more potency of that product versus potentially diluting it or altering it the way it should perform

I would advise doing the best you can before applying ceramics. There has been a whole manufacturing process before the wheels were even fitted to the vehicle. @@attention2detailswchelsea 😮really everybody says that clay bars are making minor scratches and swirls...🙈
@AMDetails Жыл бұрын
Hey @damian Opach, I'm not going to deny that clay bars can Marr paint. But in liquid decontamination, first, you remove much of the work for the clay bar, and anything it needs to remove will be smaller. Also depends on how aggressive you are with your clay bar. Then what desired result does the customer ( or owner if doing it at home for themselves) want. Many customers love a decon and seal service for their ceramic cars. We wash, decontaminate, water spot remover, then Si02 wipe, and boom, gloss is restored with super smooth paint that brings the vehicle back to life. In this video, we just wanted to get across how to get the most out of each stage to reduce the potential for damaging paint. Alan

If his wax friendly 13 pH foam is so good then why did he even need an APC to start with? Why not use the foam to remove traffic film and then foam it again for contact?
@AMDetails Жыл бұрын
Great Question, Johny. So this video is to explain the multi-step process... You could easily Foam a soap on and mitt it ..... But the goal was to remove as much as possible before the contact wash. The APC and the foam clean and degrease different things, so by doing both, we help remove more before the contact wash... I do APC first, as it's a faster-reacting product and can't be left on that long in normal driveway conditions. So it gets the dirt off it can cut through. Then the foam dwells longer on the leftover (Stubborn) dirt and softens it. If we just foamed. Then it would lift what the APC did, but the stubborn stuff may have been left? Wow hard to explain via text. But in theory, by the time we make contact, we have removed 3 layers of dirt. 1. the stuff that could easily be removed with pressure water. 2. the stuff that needed a quick, powerful chemical to release it from the surface. 3. the stuff that needed a longer-lasting chemical resisted the pressure of water and APC. Alan

I have watched a lot of videos on how to properly wash and detail a vehicle. Everyone has their own way of doing things and everyone uses different products. It gets maddening after a while and I end up confused. Some say don't pre-rinse, some say do it, some say to pre-wash and at the end of the day you end up buying products you don't really need. Pre washing is ridiculous in my opinion. Why pre wash when you're going to wash your car anyway? I always rinse my SUV then use a foam cannon. While the foam is dripping from my vehicle I use a 'noodle' mitt and wash by hand. My SUV is white and has some kind of contamination on it and washing didn't remove it last time. I intend to use a clay bar and lubricant to remove this stuff. My advise to consumers is, watch a bunch of videos on how to properly clean your vehicle then decide what's best for you. I don't have a garage to wash my SUV in. I heard that it's best to wash and detail a vehicle on an over cast day but the forecast here is sun and cool temps for a while. Maybe I will wet and wash one side of my SUV then proceed to the next.
@attention2detailswchelsea2 ай бұрын
So in the UK where Alan is from they are VERY big on prewashes some even do 3-4 prewashes before touching the paint. TBH sometimes I do exactly as you describe to wash my car, if you have protection like a coating on it most dirt will come off with the high pressure rinse, I foam it and then wash it with that foam. It depends on how dirty it is and if it’s coated. If I’m going to polish it I normally do a high ph foaming presoak, rinse then foam it again and wash it with that foam to minimize marring or scratching it but if it’s 10 yrs old and has been taken through the tunnel wash for a decade obviously my approach may differ from a brand new vehicle. The process needs to match the vehicle so common sense needs to rule. That’s why I demonstrate that so often in my videos. This is A way but not the only way to wash a vehicle. But if you live in the UK chances are this is THE way they do it
