Anyone seeing this, it is NOT SAFE !! Lithium (the element used in the battery) reacts very harshly with water. If the Lithium inside came into contact with water it would catch fire and burn violently. If you don't have a charger with discharge functionality and can't get one for whatever reason, then just hang the contacts into the water not the whole battery.

Are you sure about that?

Lithium Polymer batteries are required by law to cover up all places Lithium that can contact water. If not, this battery wouldve exploded on contact like your theory; otherwise this is a safe method. Im not sure about the discharging capabilities but lipos and water are completely safe, as long as the water isnt freezing that is.
