What about a tutorial on how you stencil/layout repetitive things, like snake scales, etc. Do you make a pattern/brush in procreate? Or are there other ways... Thanks, hope all is well, take it easy

@wallaceinked6805 2 жыл бұрын
Great idea, nothing worse than doing scales
@PoppyC62
@PoppyC62 2 жыл бұрын
When it comes to repetitive patterns like snake scales it is best to do each scale by hand so that it would have an organic look to them, especially when the snake twists and turns. The problem with using a brush or stamp of scale patterns is that it would have more of a tendency of being too uniform and unnatural. I hope this helps🙏poppy
@evaderknives
@evaderknives 2 жыл бұрын
@@PoppyC62 Right on, appreciate the advice. That is why I asked. I thought maybe "stamping" it in, then going back & fixing edges, etc to make it more organic would be the process... seems like it would still take a while, but maybe cut out 50% of the work.

I’ve used a mag before, and it didn’t saturate well at all so I’ve just been using shaders since. But maybe if I use a small mag it’ll be more efficient?
@mattattooo5780
@mattattooo5780 Жыл бұрын
Be careful using round shaders, you'll over work the skin very easily. The key is slow circles and patience. 9 curved mags will likely do everything you need when saturating

Always try to get a good stretch on real human skin. Unfortunately most fake skins don’t stretch, so you may not be able to stretch it. To get into a good habit, keep your hands in the stretching position while tattooing so that it will be second nature when you do tattoo on real human skin.

@liamnerson257
@liamnerson257 2 жыл бұрын
curved mags work well and some tattoo artists prefer them just remember it takes a different technique, as the needle points are not flat like a regular mag they have a curve where the middle needles are higher similar to a filbert brush
@TrueCody

When trying to color in real skin, I always find the mag doesn’t want to go in the skin and actually fill it in? 🤔
@187DXVDKRVFT

Don't let your needle hang out too much, and don't overwork the skin because it will bleed a lot, diluting the ink.
@187DXVDKRVFT
@187DXVDKRVFT Жыл бұрын
The reason you don't want your needle hanging out too much is because it won't get proper ink flow.

Gotta be really careful about asking broad questions like this because it really exposes how much/ little you know about what you're doing. Voltage goes hand in hand with your machine and hand speed... so, there's no actual answer to your question because of the way you asked it.

how do you know that you are overworking the area? obviously on human skin unless if you know how to tell on practice skin
@pieculver
@pieculver 2 жыл бұрын
You can tell because it will begin to bleed, and the skin will turn red and may swell. Also a good indication is the person telling you its starting to hurt.
@liamnerson257
@liamnerson257 2 жыл бұрын
depending on what fake skin you are using its going to start looking like scaly reptile skin if you are overworking it, however translating that to human skin will mean oh boy that person is going to need a skin graph, generally even if a bit of the fake skin is poking through that is fine because human skin is not as dense and will take your needles a lot easier, focus on the technique of figuring out your voltage to hand speed and hand pressure the most and if your serious block in a 1 cm square on your thigh area when you feel confident enough :)
@CrayonCats
@CrayonCats 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly you wont know most times until it heals like shit. Try to stick to one pass, two max. After the first pass wait a bit let the colors settle in and go back. But like others said it will get red, irritated and start to reject the ink.
@ajackcase4994
@ajackcase4994 8 күн бұрын
I think I doing the exact same as this dude says too do. Small circular motions just touching the skin. I'm using triple black ink. Do this technique and nope. Still brown looking haveto go over and over and over and still not black 🤬
