Dude! Hands down the THE best shading tutorial on the net. Even better imo than those costly tattoo courses "taught by world class tattoo artist". I LOVE how you explained what, when, and how you'll best use these shading techniques for. Most ppl just say "ok I'm doing this pendulum stoke here", but never say why they are doing that

I'm my opinion, it kind of varies. When I pack I use 7.0 shading I use lower like 6.5 or even 5.0. That's just me tho.

Great video thank you!! Perhaps I missed it but some info on voltage and stroke length would be very helpful!! I learning shading right now and so far I’ve had decent results running at 6 volts with a 2.8mm stroke.

I learned alot of trying to perfect my skills its just hard from how I started in prison to now my machines are old but cause we went thru a big pandemic I had to work twice as hard. If you're talking about realism I don't think realism tattoos use heavy lines it's just different tones, one of the reasons it's so hard. Humans aren't made up of hard lines just contrasting shadows.

So use a source of light like the sun and pick a direction it’s shining on the tattoo from and create shadings u pick the sharing on where upickedthe light source
