Maybe you could use some silicone and mold that plastic piece, then you won't even have to throw it away. Just thinking. It's an amazing idea, ty for the share
@annelisecochran9291
@annelisecochran9291 3 жыл бұрын
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I was also watching the whole thinking you should do a resin pour one time to seal the sand in there so you never even have to dump....maybe do both of these ideas together! cast a silicone piece and then fill it with a resin sealed sand block for weight!
@emeryn1736
@emeryn1736 3 жыл бұрын
@@annelisecochran9291 But that kinda just defeats the purpose of the vid “saving resin” ~Have you ever tried pouring resin into sand? It kind of absorbs/wicks the moisture💦 in like a sponge🧽 + it doesn’t allow for that little Harry Potter “hidey-hole” to stash dr💊gs(🤫⬅️😂I’m totes joking....but like: a 🔑/🔐/battery-operated tea light candle🕯/love letter📄...ok maybe that’s a bit cheesy) but maybe if you were to utilize the same grade of “hard”plastic cut to fit inside/over the sand and then seal with UV resin/or some other sealant{Zero clue if that’s a word/or if that’s how you spell it🤷🏻‍♀️} hot glue gun?silicone??...idk...seems like it’d be more trouble than what it’s worth; and simply to what? Make it heavier/have more weight...you know?? Anyway, geez...I digress....sorry for rambling on & on!

Very good idea. I think I'd opt for stones instead of sand to avoid getting sand in the resin, but I'm clumsy.

Yes yes yes...I did a pyramid and put a clear party cup in the center and it did save a ton of resin...then I was able to put fairy lights inside the party cups, which you can't tell there's a cup in it, and then the lights are gorgeous...but I'm very new at this so I still need alot of help...these are GORGEOUS!!!
