Great tutorial and thanks! I would like a tutorial on loading performance banks and sounds into the Juno DS from a USB and where these sounds end up on the DS with Do's and Don'ts. Best ways to organize sounds in a bank, also. Can a Duo sound be saved with both sounds?

This video was super helpful. Thank you. Two questions I would love to watch tutorial's on if it's possible. ONE * Can we split 4 or more sounds? and TWO * How to save an arpeggiated setting assigned to a specific sound in split mode assigned to the upper region. (opposed to the lower region.) I love my Juno DS but sometimes I get frustrated because I am still learning how to use it efficiently. The Dark Family Hour is just my KZbin channel. It's a 30 minute variety show. It's not Dark, it's just the name. Thank you! Peace~! Salane

@Exalter
@Exalter 2 жыл бұрын
As I think I said in another comment, I think the only way to remove favorites is to save new sounds over the old ones. As far as your sounds not saving, I would make sure you are in the right bank (I have made that mistake many times!).

Great Video! Your channel has narrowed down my decision of buying one of these. Quick question though: Does this piano cut off when switching sounds? In a live performance at church I could want one sound for the verse and another for the chorus; would they abruptly stop?
@Exalter
@Exalter 3 жыл бұрын
Glad my videos helped! It completely depends what sound you are switching to. With some sounds the original sound abruptly stops, with pianos they seem to sustain if you switch sounds. What I would recommend is using the Dual Mode and switch between sounds with the faders. That way you don't have to deal with worrying about whether the sound will cut out.

@@ExalterI know this is 2 years old but on a similar topic. I made a four layer preform ace and I can only control the first two layers with fader 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 don’t do anything. How do I get all four faders to work as masters by default?

This is useful, of course. But Roland does have a video explaining these same concepts. I wish Roland or you or someone would make a detailed video on editing patch/performance parameters to get a sound that you want. They have 3 MFX (multi-effects) but editing that to get, just for example, a sweep, like a phase shifting sound, is certainly not intuitive. THAT kind of detailed tutorial would be super helpful.

Hey! Great vid once again! Random question. How can you utilize the "dual" function on the Juno to record using "dual" patches into a DAW? I am currently using Logic Pro and find that when I try to record into the software with Dual engaged only the first patch sound is recorded but not the other dually. What could be the issue? Regards.
@Exalter
@Exalter 3 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I have always layered sounds in my DAW by just recording a bunch of different times. That way I can control the mix of sounds in my DAW instead of picking the balance before they are burned to a single audio file. You might play around with the input settings in Logic and See if you can find anything there!

I used to save sounds to favorites but then realized i could select them with an external midi keyboard (its tricky but can be done). So when I select a song on my yamaha it sends the patch change to the Roland and selects the performance automatically. What I can't figure out is how to use the assign knobs, can anybody explain those?
@nathanwahl9224
@nathanwahl9224 2 жыл бұрын
Thanky kindly, that helped me understand the Favorites a lot better. But can I ask if you or anyone knows: What all gets saved in a Favorite? Does it preserve splits and layers, so I can use those functions? For instance, I'm playing bass with my left hand and piano with my right. I'd like to turn a string pad layer on and off. Would that save with the favorite, or would I need to make two Favorites and switch back and forth? (The second one would be with the layer turned on.) Also, do all the effects and volumes get saved along with the sounds? Thanks again, I'm going to watch some of your other videos now.
@Exalter
@Exalter 2 жыл бұрын
You can save any split or dual patch into favorites! For your piano and string pad question, it would probably be easiest to set a dual mode patch and use the sliders to control the volume. Finally, yes effects and patch volumes get saved along with the sounds!
@nathanwahl9224
@nathanwahl9224 2 жыл бұрын
@@Exalter Excellent, thank you so much!!! That's what I was wondering. For the bass/piano plus pads, I think I'll skip the Split function, and just assign the bass range on the left two physical octaves (as Part 1 or 2), which you can specify in the user tone, and whatever else I want to control on the right three octaves in the other Part. So the ones I want to vary will be on the sliders (Parts 1 and 2.) Any other pads and such that don't vary can go in Parts 3-16. I hope that makes sense. The Split function just seems too restrictive in a live setting, although it is handy. Plus on the user tones, I'll have the bass tone mostly panned to the left output (90%/10%, whatever that is, L48 I think), which goes to my bass amp, and the rest panned 40/60 (R18?), mostly to the right output, which goes to the PA. I'll still get a little stereo imaging, and won't need a separate monitor since my bass amp is always behind me. I'll hear a little from the right from the bass amp, and some from the PA monitor I already have. Your tutorials are right on target, nice work, I'm sure all your subscribers appreciate it, I know I do.

@Exalter

It sounds like you are saving the dual patch instead of saving the dual patch in the bank. Sorry, that wasn't very clear... What I would try is making a patch/performance, and saving it in the user banks. Then, after you have saved it there, try putting it into the favorites bank. Hope this helps!
