Building income in the event that my contracting work runs out. Have been caught out before with being woefully disorganised, so building up cash reserves is an essential. I prefer putting coin in managed funds (growth/ethical investing) have built up good income streams and retirement investing that way. Planning to continue to build on the $4,000 I've put away by increasing to 8,000 by end of Feb next year. It makes you more chill having a reserve rather than dipping into credit cards and paying stupid percent interest. Thanks for the good tips.

Well you told me to set up a $1,000 challenge bank account AND I HAVE! Took 3 minutes over the phone with my credit union in my lunch break. Just finalising my first $2,000 for the new piece of furniture I've been saving for. All set to start for the next $3,000. Thanks, Canna! x

Hi Canna, I've tried selling clothes on eBay in an effort to earn extra money and have had mixed results despite having good quality pieces, photos & detailed descriptions. Can you please make a video on how to successfully sell clothes on eBay? Thank you & thanks for this video :)

i tried this earlier this year but failed miserably when i was laid off and down to a part time job.. bringing home under $120 a week. how sad is that! i had paid off my credit cards but then ran them up again just to buy things i needed. now i gotta start all over next year.

No that isn't sad, that is inspiring, despite losing your job, you haven't given up, you have tried your best to keep going, even when it was $120 per week and that is admirable. There is nothing wrong with starting again. And that fact that you are ready to start again (when lots of people wouldn't) you know that you can actually do this. So once you have your debt paid off, you can start building up saving for emergency use. And you will have peace of mind knowing that if you ever lose your job, you won't end up in credit card debt again....my hat goes off to you, stay strong and you have this....xCC

your videos are so great! thankyou. so inspirational. I've got a stupid $4000 on my credit card because I waste my cash on eating snacks outside. I just checked my spending on the cba app and I spend about $400 cash per month on silly things!! and that's just the eating out...

Now that you know how much your spending per month challenge yourself to reduce it. Even if it just by $10 a month. xCC

The one question I keep having is; if I save money, I consider it not 'extra' money. I spent less which is great but I won't get that money out of my account and put it in a 1000 dollar (euro) project. But you seem to do that. Why? Just a curious question btw!
@SugarMamma6 жыл бұрын
Great question, if I remove it from my account, and put it in the dedicate $1,000 Project account, I won't spend it on silly mindless stuff. I have prioritised it for the achievement of going towards my financial goals.xCC

How do you have time to do things on the side when you have your own business, your own home, a son, a boyfriend, 2 dogs, chores and you time?

Haha, I am writing this to you, sitting at my dining table, Rocco is asleep and Tom is watching the soccer. I don't watch TV, I wake up at 5 am at least 2 times per week and I exercise in my lunch break. I do have staff who help me and a cleaner now, but I think keeping my home and life in a minimalistic manner saves me heaps of time...xCC

I have a question. Suppose you budgeted 100 from your salary for eating out (or for any other purpose) and you spent 70. So, will you put 30 towards 1000dollar project? Will you consider 30 as 'income' outside your salary?
@ShoppingQueenArlene6 жыл бұрын
Ajita yes she does as this money would have been spent, I've seen other videos from her where she sort of vlogs a month of ways she makes money and some ways are by saving the money she had planned to spend on something and the idea is to transfer that amount to the dedicated savings account right away
@SugarMamma6 жыл бұрын
Yes, $30 goes towards your $1,000 Project Account. I have a weekly allowance for weekend entertainment, when I chose to spend the weekend in, anything left over, went to my $1,000 Project account...xCC

Also peeps, recommend flagging the usual New Year's Resolution that gets smashed to bits by Feb by going for a 'what if ... by [date]?' ... eg what if I paid my credit card/car/loans etc by 31 December 2018? What would that allow me to do? Take an extended holiday? Early retirement? ...
@emmalong89376 жыл бұрын
Hi Canna, thanks for all the helpful advice you give. Wondering if you can suggest a good bank account for a 15 year old? He’s about to start looking for a casual holiday job and I’d like to set him up with an every day account plus a savings account. He’s currently with Commonwealth bank, but I’m really not keen on their strategies such as offering him a credit card when he’s 18.

its too risky. the health ranger just did a video on it. its not a bad idea, getting away from a central bank. but its computerized and anyone can hack it and just take your coins.
