Thanks Amy. I’ve found meal planning helps a lot. Been buying as you suggested a few extra staple items. Tin tomatoes etc. Also joined the company shop.🛒🤗💐

Hi Karen, meal planning is so useful and definitely helps me stay on track. How are you finding company shop? I'm a big fan and find you can save loads. Thank you for watching.

@@AmyRuth Think it’s hit & miss at the company shop. But my mum did good there this week for gluten free pasta etc. She was really pleased.🤗💐💐

Great tips ! I find shopping at Asian markets for bulk spices instead is better since only me and my son they last sooooo long and cheaper than aldi or Lidl here in Ireland . Bulk rice lasts me ages too as I’m gluten free but I keep the costs down buy no bothering to buy gluten free range of products as some them are totally rip off 🤣 I stick to meat / fish / veggies / rice / spices to make life less boring 😂 My son loves oats as can make porridge pancakes or mini muffins or gronla from bag of oats ?! I just buy oats now and never buy cereal as fine you buy more of this and feels like eating air ?! I bulk bought gluten free oats on sale last year 1 year supply €100 so total bargain and still going ! I always add extra tinned coconut milk tuna or tin tomatoes or stock cubes every shop to stock pile it’s worth it for soups / sauces /curries ideas 💡 I started to write down in note book things I would of thrown out like leftovers etc and seeing the value of that money on paper really makes you stop throwing them out or shall I say , serve less on the plate then come back for seconds . As seconds can always be tomorrow’s dinner ! If I do have leftovers on a second day dinner I always mix it with the dry dog food for my dog ! This really helps cut on waste and feeds the dog too ! It’s a win win !

Hi amy. You mentioned using an Excel sheet to know what you have. do you think you can go into more depth on how to set one up? what formula do you use? how do you use it? Do you include batch-cooked meals to know what you have to eat?

Hi, it's quite a long answer but I'll do my best to answer it here. I start with a list of what I have in the fridge freezer and pantry. I then work out what meals I can make from those ingredients and put them with an ingredient list in a separate sheet of the same document. I do add batched meals but in a separate section of the sheet. I check my inventory list before I shop and see what I already have and then create a meal plan. I will then shop and add my shop to the inventory and as I use things up they get taken of the list. I will add to the meal idea sheet as I buy different ingredients to keep things interesting. I hope that makes sense.

Good video Amy Great tips This week Asda were giving away free veg I couldn’t believe it I’ve never seen free anything before Have a good week 🌷❤️🌷❤️

Thank you Paula. With the Asda veg, it's worth looking out for it after Christmas aswell. It's all the extra veg that they sell really cheaply for Easter and Christmas that's leftover. So far it seems to only be asda that give it away. Its a brilliant thing for them to do. The other super markets do the week or so of really cheap veg but then just do normal reductions on the overstock. That's been my experience of it anyway x

Yes you are right Amy with what you are saying I’ve only ever seen reduced not free I’m trying to buy as much reduced food as possible still It is doable but you have to put the leg work in Its not worth going in the car as petrol price is higher We do have our bus pass so all good there I’m going to Costa this afternoon to get my free birthday cake can’t be bad Xx❤️🌷❤️🌷
