One major cause (mine) was due to lack of orientation; we were just told to go to school at a very tender age without giving a solid reason why we should, no orientation on what UG is all about and getting there, before realizing I was already in an advanced world, it was late. Anyways, thanks so much Prof and welcome back.

I subscribed after seeing your statement of purpose video, and this video just uplifted my spirit. I am a 3rd Class graduate of History, and it felt okay to keep blaming my school in addition to my lack of orientation during my undergrad days. Graduate school for me is to be better than before. 13 years gap is such a huge motivation. Thank you, Dr. Ann, you just won another fan.

Welcome back Prof. Ann, thank God for the speedy recovery of your son. Thank you for this video and thank you for the inspiration and motivation you share in your videos. Hi I am Philip, and I am currently rounding up my undergrad program (geology) at FUTA with a 2.1 but a somewhat low CGPA (the upper 3. Boundary out of a 5.0). I want to do a master's but I want to change career path to software engineering or do an integrated program of geosciences and software engineering. I have taken not of what was discussed in this video and I have been watching the entire playlist from the very beginning and I will still do that again. I am a bit bothered that most scholarship details require like a thesis, and I kind of hate working on a research paper. I love knowledge and learning but I am not interested in creating a thesis. If anything I am mentally tailored for the industry, you discussed this with your friend way back in the beginning series. Well I know I have not asked some specific questions or any question at all. But I want to know what you feel about this and if you have any advise or suggestions. Thank you for reading this, this was very lengthy so apologies. I anticipate your response, if you do decided to text that would be amazing but if you decide to do a video that will be also amazing. :)

It was Lack of Orientation and distraction, we were just informed to go to school. No proper information on how to attain proper CGPA, all I do was read like a headless chicken and not getting the accurate information which is needed to pass my courses. Bulky syllabus is another factor, my department bombard with notes which makes it difficult for an average student to pass his/her grades. Thanks so much for the video, wishing your son a speedy recovery.

Speaking particularly of my Faculty (Vet. Medicine) in my school( UI) the major reason for failure of students is BULKY curriculum, I mean very very bulky and sometimes terrifying, and how they set questions, I mean out of the bulky curriculum just an unexpected little piece is removed and People end up failing.

I graduated with a BS in Physics and minor in high school education with a 2.8. I know it was because for the first two years I had no idea what I doing and wasn’t properly orientated with the demands of my major then I broke I my leg and after that I broke my arm and got severely depressed. I pulled myself out of it and started performing way better physically and mentally and then COVID struck 😅

A very bad means of transportation to and fro out of the school. We literally fight every morning and afternoon at the car pack before and after lectures. Hence, sometimes discouraged to go to morning classes till after 10am. That went on throughout my 5 years active stay in school. University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
