I find it very difficult to get the copper out of those armatures. Since I find a lot of vacuum cleaners and other small appliances with those armatures I just sell them by the pound. Last time I had about 60 pounds.

Yeah they take a lot of work. I’m working on a new method but I think ultimately they’re better to sell as is.

Dedicating a cheap old electric soldiering iron for breaking down high plastic content items saves a lot of time and hammering. In many instances when the situation calls for a hammer or a reciprocating saw to remove plastic from metal, reach for that hot iron instead.... zips through the plastic like a hot knife through butter. No plastic shavings nor smashed pieces flying all over the place, and it's silent unlike a grinder.

That’s a really good idea, thank you!

Another nice video I'd like to see you do a video on taking apart. A gas chainsaw and a gas backpack blower. I've taken quite a few apart but I just can't find An efficient system Take them apart Maybe you could educate me. On how to take them apart efficiently?🤠
@scrapitall2004 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I don’t seem to find those ever, but if I do I will see what I can do. Are you taking the apart for scrap or fixing them? Really not much scrap value in them I imagine.

@scrapitall200 I have a couple of Lawn mower. repair shops that give me. There broke down equipment that people don't want repair. A lot of carburetors and a lot of blot, a lot of lawn mower blades. I once brought in 800 pounds of lawn mower blades. But the motor's off of lawn mowers, power washers. Generators, also weed whackers pay a better price Then shred. I once brought in 2500 pounds of motors.🤠

Wow, that must’ve been a lot of mower blades! I usually just take the aluminum off them then take in a load of motors when I have enough. I know okie scrapper made a waste oil burner and he’ll melt away the cast aluminum then remelt the aluminum into ingots. Then he sells them on eBay for around $4 a pound. Not sure if he still does that though.
