You should try a thin-gauge narrow loop tool for creating form and movement. They really help emphasise the beard structure.

Ok., now that I know about the tool.. what kind of clay is this you're using? How do you keep from squishing and distorting it while you're holding it below and working on the face? Your art is truly exceptional. I love hearing you speak.

This is super sculpey original and firm(gray) mixed 50/50. Usually you bake polymer sculptures in phases, exactly so that you don't deform your previous work, you can bake first time when you make basic shape of the head, before any details. When you bake first or second time, you bake it only for a half an hour or so, then last bake can be longer. You can get away without baking it in phases with super sculpey, it's just can be akward. I would definitely recommend super sculpey clay, it's best clay over all in my opinion, later you can try oil clay like monster clay or chavant. Thanks for the kind words Ames.

@@GameCultureSculpture Oh, thank you for that information. How kind of you to take the time and effort to reply. You've inspired to start claying again. Time for new face and hands mirrors. I think it's so funny that folks like them.. and actually pay real money for them. It's all just fun for me.

They're called metal dental tools and most craft/pottery supply stores have them.

@@skateboardingjesus4006 Haha.. I was going to reply to the above comment and then I saw it was ME who wrote it a year ago. haha. I just crack myself up sometimes. Our hardware store sells those tools but I was interested in that particular one. I'm over it now though.. but thank you for responding.
