Is there a reason on why you didn't use the sprayer bottle instead of fumbling with a funnel in a tight space? it is much easier to control
@djprojugs66063 жыл бұрын
All that smoke isn't the carbon burning off. Seafoam has oils in it and it is the oil being vaporized that you are seeing pushed out the exhaust. This is why you also see the smoke come out the air intake as well as soon as you started pouring it into the carburetor. You are 100% correct that the carbon is disintegrating but I just wanted to simply share the info with you and others who might read this that about 90% the smoke we see is from the oil in that's in the seafoam. Still a great video! Keep up the great work!

Sea Foam is spectacular for improving the starting/running of small engines. I've used it in my lawn mower and weed whacker. Sea Foam and the Lucas products are a blessing to those who can't afford sky-high repair bills. We had someone gift us with a riding mower and it cost us nearly $1000 to have it "repaired." It never did work right so we sold it at a loss. Most lawn mowers and weed trimmers today are "throw away." Not worth having someone repair them. Sea Foam is low cost and fixes many starting/running issues for me.

I have a very nice Yamaha TTR230 that didn’t want to start after sitting all Winter. I poured half a can of Seafoam in the tank and left it for a couple of weeks cranking it a few random times for a few seconds every few days. Then it eventually started right up and runs like new.
@mikefisc99898 ай бұрын
I would add some SeaFoam to your oil prior to your oil change on that Gator. The SeaFoam will help remove most of the sludge from the crank case. On an engine this old and run this hard I would probably do this for several oil changes in a row. Thanks for the video.
@SeahawkAz13 күн бұрын
Seafoam has a spray product that does pretty much what you did in the video but it is more controlled. Per the instructions on the can while the engine is running you spray 4-5 quick bursts with each burst stopping just before the engine dies than I big last spray that will kill the engine followed by the 10 minute soak. Put the air filter back on and restart the engine and operate the machinery

I put 1oz of seafoam per gallon in my gas cans any time I'm filling them up. All of my motors run so clean and smooth, especially the little 2-cycle engines. Highly reccomended, especially on 2-strokes but my lawnmower and snowblower definitely get the treatment too!

Good stuff that sea foam... Not so much on modern automobiles (direct injected comes to mind) but certainly on small engines, 3 cheers for "Old School"!
@SilverCymbal5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I also like they never went crazy with the price. It's still under $10/can compared to some modern "gimmicky" type products which can be 4x that and have no history like the Seafoam. Thanks for the comment and watching my video too,

I did a hot soak on a 2 cycle outboard that had been sitting for 5 years. Cleaned it up and brought the high idle from 2000 rpm at idle down to 8-900. lol yeah and I pretty much smoked out the neighborhood

I love it. Seafoam is great especially for marine applications like that. I have seen that type of smoke, it's CRAZY on a really old machine. I have personally seen the results inside the chamber before and after and Seafoam really cleans at least 70% of the carbon off the head without disassembly.

@SilverCymbal5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it could be a good thing to try. If it's 2 stroke and older you could have build up on the exhaust ports. You will likely be amazed at how smokes comes out after the treatment. Just take your time and follow the instructions and you should be good to go. It's been very helpful on many of my 2 strokes over the years especially some that I thought were junk and it brought a lot of new life into them without much work.

I left fuel in my almost new riding mower for 2 years and now it won't start. Eventually I can start it by moving the governor. Even if it runs for a bit it won't start from the key. I need to pull up and down on the governor again. Also noticed the choke has no effect. Will the Seafoam treatment help me? Some openings in that carb must be clogged.

Thank you kindly I have had great success with 2 stroke engines with Seafoam. Obviously for small engines you only need just a little seafoam but it works just as well. 2 strokes get so much carbon build up that I have found seafoam is even more effective with them.
