Would love to do a fill video for rhinestones, personally in salon if a client got a full nail of stones it was at least $25 (for active length) then when they came back in 2 weeks I would fill the stones and keep them again so most clients wore them for 4-6 weeks total.

Question to anyone who could possibly help me. If I get a full set at the nail salon, would I be able to add my own rhinestones on at-home? As long as I have the appropriate rhinestones and adhesive. Do I apply a finishing top coat ONTO the rhinestones? (I've heard that takes away its shine). Would a top coat ON TOP OF my already full set from the salon, be affected if I were to add it under a UV light at home?

I unfortunately didn't find this very informative as a big time beginner. Especially because I was looking for a video that would tell me why my gems are melting when I put them under the UV and how to avoid that. I'm also curious how this would work out if you were trying to apply to a matte surface? I'm definitely all the way a beginner lol so I'm totally open to advice!

@April Parks it has been a little while since I've tried doing a set so I wouldn't rely on my advice all the way. Although I'm fairly certain that instead of glue for rhinestones you can use top coat. I would look it up to make sure!(: good luck!

I always either clip em off with cuticle nippers, or if they’re reALLY stuck (like the little ones that are super secured) I’ll run over them with a drill bit and they fly right off lol

Lol actually a great suggestion. For now a quick response is efile the edges to break the seal then clip off with an old pair of cuticle nippers (make sure to use old as to not damage your good ones.)

Would it work the same with any gel lamp or would I have to buy from this brand? I know the guy is a must, because of the hold. But would the lamp be a huge difference?

You want to make sure you use a lamp with the same curing wavelength as the gel you use. This is why most brands recommend using their light with their gels because they are designed to work together. If your lamp is the same wavelength, it should cure just fine.

Yes, you can apply stones with glue, but they may not hold as long as using a gel. If you don’t have the Sculptor, you can use Build/Build Pink or even the Ultimate Finish Top Coat.

There are lots of options for applying stones. If you are just applying small rhinestones, a good gel top coat will work fine. You may need to add a little extra right at the base of the stone to seal around the edge. Some people also like to use the glue in the tube to apply the stones and then top coat around them. If you are applying large stones, we do recommend using the thicker gel since this will have a little more durability.

Actually, acrylic over gel doesn’t work as well as gel over acrylic. Gel doesn't like a smooth surface though so if you are smoothing out your acrylic with a buffer then that could be a reason.

Hi! My question may be stupid, I was just wondering if you can just put that rhinestone gel on the whole nail before putting rhinestones on and use it as a layer instead of the normal clear gel? Instead of a top coat, you know..or doesn't it "finish" as good? And if it hardens in the uv lamp, then why can you not just use a normal clear gel/top coat to put the rhinestones in?I hope you know what I mean, my english isn't the best 🤣🙈✌🏽💅🏽

I keep trying to secure my stones with a thin layer of builder gel but it doesn't seem to cure. I actually gave up after 10 minutes of curing and just used glue instead. Regardless of it being a few or a full finger I cant get it to work. How do ur stones get secured? Am I doing something wrong? How can the lamp cure a full nail completely covered? Does the lamp require a certain wattage? Ughhh I wud appreciate any words of wisdom.

Yes could be the light you are using. With this process it is just the same as curing gel in a light, about one minute and you are good.

Yes, you can use glue to adhere the stone, but we also recommend using top coat around the base of the stone to "encase" it and give it a little more durability.

You can use anything that has a small point/tip. For example, a dotting tool, a small/fine brush/toothpick, etc. You can dip them into a small amount of gel to give them a sticky surface and that will be enough to pick up your stones

we are using hard gel to apply the rhinestones. If you use it to adhere yor full cover tips then you will not be able to soak them off as hard gel does not soak off.

Depending on what kind of stones you use (Swarovski crystals vs basic rhinestones), you can charge per stone or you can have a set price per nail. Keep in mind that if you do a set price per nail, you may want to have a different price for short, medium, long, extra long. For example, you could charge $10 per nail for short, $15 for med, $20 for long. If you are using Swarovski, it may be higher depending on the size/shape of the crystals.
