This video sums up what bothers me the most about marketing/pitching products and services. It's dishonest in that you don't really care why the person buys. Your literal job is to make money by selling your product to other people. You want them to buy regardless of if they use it or if they need it. So you use all the little tricks you can find to make them give you their money for your product. Like it was said, buy with emotion and justify with logic. Even if that logic is faulty and the emotions were planted by a sales pitch built on hundreds of thousands of dollars of research that an uneducated/unaware/unstable person can't hope to beat.
@Jus1janetatgmail2 жыл бұрын
However, if the product doesn't interest you, it doesn't matter what strategy you use. These strategies are for a target audience in an effort to have them focus on making a decision to purchase a product or service they are interested in. Example: You can tell me that buying a boat is the best experience since the invention of sliced bread, I am not buying it because I am not the target audience.

I'm in real estate and I do a lot of cold calling based off info from a website. A lot of people go on the website who just want to look at houses and arent serious buyers. So my first objective is to find out how serious they are. I'll think i have it figured out and then i chekc back with them only to find out they've already purchased a home. Any tips on determining motivation?

I think like a lot of people you’ve explained placement in the 4 p’s a little incorrectly. Yes it is somewhat to do with geographic location of the object, and in store or online via a warehouse. But placement also considers the alignment of that product against other products. For example having the product at eye height on shelves in supermarkets rather than closer to the floor. Or having the product appear on the front page on a website in order to gain more exposure to the market. Source: www.investopedia.com/terms/f/four-ps.asp

My dad is a sales person and photographer so when he wants someone to take a picture he starts off like "aweeee that's a cute baby" and then they say thx and stop for a nanosecond. But he says something like the paren4s must be beautiful to make that baby and they blush and that's his hook. Then they walk over to him a Lil bc they feel like he's trying to catherine them on to something. He asks the baby when the last time the baby had pics and the parents laugh. Then he says we're having a big deal which he says to everyone. Then he says for just 20$ hell give them a 6 by 6 photo frame as an extra. He ends with giving them a joke about how he knows the struggle of kids and then he asks them if they want to take anoic. Finally they give him the money. I sware I stay shook every time bc I can identify when someone is flattering and like get outta here but he does it so well

comedyman112 i agree. If u want to sell something u need to do a research on that person and then decide what is the best way to sell it to him. Not one costumer is the same. But generaly most of the people don't even understand the specs of the tv (or anything else) so it could be wrong to talk just about the facts.

If I see something that reportedly costs 300 000 USD to produce being allegedly sold for 997 USD at a special price of 47 USD I first of all lose any trust in the first two numbers. Then my brain proceeds to make an automatic projection that the product could and should cost even less. If 997 can be reduced to 47, then the real value lies perhaps around 5 USD, doesn't it. By that time the sellers credibility is exactly zero and I would not buy even for 0.5 USD because I already feel scammed enough.

Isn't selling "anything to anyone" morally reprehensible, especially when you know the buyer can't afford the product and is burying themselves even further in debt? Maybe I'm too honest and caring of others situations..... to be a "successful" salesperson?
@JasonTodd3396 жыл бұрын
Why give a fuck? If you're dumb enough to spend money you can't afford to spend then that sucks for you
@SanctiFae6 жыл бұрын
I think that you're placing yourself in a situation where you feel guilty about it because you get involved in the customers life by judging.their circumstances. At the end.of the day no.matter what he says to you you don't know his or her real circumstances, they could be selling you off on their suffering
@EvandroFilgueiras886 жыл бұрын
It's about the product. Anything to anyone is just a catchy title to attract viewers. But in the end, I believe that you SHOULD care if you want to be a successful salesperson... When you don't care and sell any shit to anyone you're just a sociopath.
