How do you decide to price your art, especially for someone who is just starting out? And do you or would you sell the original and how would you price that?
@SketchyTrav4 жыл бұрын
Adrian Ramos since all the work was created digitally, I don’t sell an original. I priced my work based on what I saw other prints like mine were selling for. But I would say the greater factor in selling art is find a market that wants your niche art. My comic art prints and my trailblazer prints sell a thousand times better than my original concepts.

Very informative. I like your shipping solution. I am selling prints of watercolors and use a local printer shop as the images look much better from their scan than photos I take. I got an epson this winter and then returned it unsatisfied as it wasted so much of my time setting up and I didn't even like the results. But if I get a printer again I’ll get that cannon.

Thank you for this video! We purchased a canon-pro 200 after watching your video to print from home but have had problems with getting the exact look that we want. My husband is an artist and we draw and color through clip studio. I have been printing on 11 x 17 luster/satin photo paper but we think its too shinny. But I was afraid the matte would be to dull. Before we purchased the printer, we printed at office max on glossy cardstock which my husband prefers. The colors seem to pop more. His posters are normally 11 x 17, can you provide any information on how we could use the 13 x 19 canon paper and cut it down. For some reason Canon doesn't sell any 11 x 17 sizes!!! Thanks for any help you can provide

This review was exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for making this video. Also, thank you for the shipping tip with the dollar tree boxes! I mainly print on 8.5 x 11 and smaller - and usually do around 50-60 prints in one go, sometimes more depending on demand. Do you think the ink will last a decent amount of time? Also, that mail in rebate is a steal.

I'm trying to start selling my own prints soon to get more money to spend on loved ones for Christmas. What I'm thinking of doing is making a wooden frame for the top and bottom that the purchaser can use to hang up prints more easily. But the only issue I'm having currently is trying to figure out how to find the right paper type. I conflicted between going for rolling it up or keeping it upright with a cardboard box to keep it safe. (Along with a plastic protective sheet with cute lil extra stuff to thank them for buying my art.) The kind of paper I'm going for is kind of like A1 blueback paper or maybe Red River Paper? The more cheaper alternative is getting cardstock paper from Walmart. What do you suggest for someone who doesn't have a lot of money?

Ok-ok: great info! Question: This setup is perfect for someone who does everything digital. I create paintings and I want to reproduce my own prints up to about 18x24". Any suggestions as to how to resolve my scan issue? Bc other than pay someone else to scan them, I've got nothing lol... It would seem that I may just have to absorb that cost into reproduction costs but I would love to be able to scan my own... However... It would have to be a flat scanner as I paint on canvas that is typically 5/8" thick. Any ideas? :) Thanks!!

So if the print comes as a 13x19", do customers have to find frames to fit that, or cut your artwork to fit an 11x17, which seems like the original artboard size.? I'm always hesitant to leave some of the cropping up to the customer, especially when the artwork is reaching that 11x17 boundary. Is that even something you worry about once it's out the door? Or is that kind of like a.. well now the ball's in your court kind of idealogy. Just asking because I really like the size of 11x17, and this is the first video I've found from a designer that kind of delivers with some bleed, and leaves some artistic choices up to the consumer. Also, I'm guessing the paper size dictates some of these decisions. But, you prolly get what Im sayin'. I like the give and take that you provide, for sure.. just curious if some artists would struggle with that leeway.
