thanks for the insightful video. As a charity we rely on donations. that translates to a requirement for a very simple and easy customer expreienace. Question: Why is the customer asked to input an email address 3 times during the process ? once on the form, and twice at checkout (donor(or other) details & under card details) ? Question: While it is necessary to configure a Payment Option, is a paypal or other account required to make a Debit or Credit Card payment ? Question: Under Payment Options | Debit or Credit Card, under Billing Address, Can the default of US be automatically changed to the country of the customer based on either the Donor Country or from another place ?

Hey Thomas thanks for checking out Payable Apps - The email address is used as a link between the Google Form data and the payment data, so it is typically entered twice (Once on the Google Form, and Once on the Checkout Page). We do save it with the user so they would not need to enter it if they come back again. Some payment providers (Like the basic PayPal Flow) may ask for it again and have kind of a clunky additional data that they request, we cannot change anything in that PayPal Card flow. If you want the best credit card flow, Stripe, and Square are both quite frictionless, and offer Apple Pay we find it to be a little more seamless.

Yes these instructions are still valid. 👍 - You can connected PayPal to more than website, so it’s ok to setup PayPal with a Google Form, and it won’t impact your website.

Sadly not since the confirmation message is the same no matter which product is purchased. Typically our users will have to setup a different form for each digital product at this point in time. We are working on a new product which will help solve for this in the future. Should be ready in the next few months.

What if I want to do everything in 1 Section without showing the link ( where the user also have to click on Payable at the last step ) ? The flow should be much simpler, just a buy button that redirects to PayPal .

Hi Maxim, sadly it’s not possible to embed payment buttons inside of the google form itself. We agree with you that we would love to build it that way, but some of the limitations is that we need to use a link in the confirmation message to transition the user to the secure checkout.

This adds the app as a "middle-man" between PayPal and my business. Payments go from PayPal to the app, then to me. You mentioned Google Sheets. Why can't I just configure PayPal with Google Sheets, Gmail, without adding a 3rd party app?

Hey Michel - We do not act as a “middle-man” when it comes to your money. You always act as the “seller” and the buyer pays your account directly. We (Payable) never control the flow of your funds, or have money come to us first. Yes, as a software application, we do setup payments on your behalf with PayPal, Stripe, and Square. We do the technical bit to calculate the amount due, host the checkout page, and update the Google Sheet with payment statuses. If you are a software developer yourself, you could possibly build something out directly without a 3rd party. Our goal is however to help every day people get up and running without needing to code.

You only showed us that you put up a link for the e-book, but what about the mp3 file? Multiple choices, different prices and different links. How we can do that?

Hi there. Yes to use this tool each digital product would require its own form. So you would have a separate google form setup for each digital file.

@@PayableApps I assume that if I was selling an 'album' which included different mp3 files I could send a link to a folder on Google docs, and then everything within that folder (all the different mp3 files in the album) would be available?

Hey There, - Most often this can be caused by having multiple google accounts in the same browser. Give this video a watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2LPmXuJdqZlZ5o. - Otherwise sometimes its best to duplicate the form and try again, make sure there are no crazy characters in your form title or description.

What's to stop the person who bought the item from giving the link to others? Anyone with the link can get the document-it is shared with anyone who has the link.

Great point. That is true. If one of your buyers was untrustworthy, and wanted wanted to illegally share the file they purchased with others after they purchased they could. Some sellers may rotate or change the download link once a month or so. However regardless of whether the delivery link is static or dynamic, once a buyer is given access to the file there could always be a chance they just upload it and share it on their own. So the static link setup generally works for most sellers with a limited amount of complexity. If it’s a super secret and valuable file, it may make more sense to water mark it and manually forward it each time it’s purchased.

@@notabolished1331 you can embed a google form (which means to nest it inside one of your websites pages) or you make a can link to it (a button that says “click here to register” and then does a full page redirect to the Google form page. We find if you have a long fork embedding is not the best option, as sometimes from section to section it does not across very well. (A bit of a google issue not us) For that reason we typically tell users to use the link feature instead of embedded the form. Stylize a nice big button and link them the google form share URL. We can’t help with coding your website. 😀 so search out some other youtube videos to help depending on your platform.

@@PayableApps My form will be short, so nesting it on a web page sounds good for aesthetic reasons. I hope there will be no issues embedding a short google form on my website. By the way, embedding a short code does not require developer skills. It's one of the most basic stuff. I wonder why you want me to get help on that. Or were you referring to embedding a long Google form?🤔

@@notabolished1331 Google Forms can be embedded, but in this case (video), you are going to create a huge mess because you're not just working with Google Forms, but also Payable forms URLs, so that's two URLs that are changing. Watch this video again and keep an eye on the browser address bar, where it keeps changing URLs during the checkout process.
